Something stronger than the Heat Blast
« on: September 13, 2006, 02:40:07 AM »
I got a used Heat Blast drilled with the pin above and in between the fingers with the cg kicked out a couple of inches. It also had a weight hole down by the thumb. The weight hole gave me a little more flare, now the ball is nice and smooth with good continuation on a medium/light shot. I would like to duplicate that same reaction on a stronger ball for more oil. A step up from the Blast. I plan on using the same drill. Any suggestions. Oh, and could you limit it to symetric bowlingball? thanks.

Big,

Is yours drilled like this?

Your description of the reaction is pinpoint! I second the Artillery. While I don't have the same drilling, the ball fits over the Blast perfectly.

Hey Big,

From what I've seen, the Blast is a good medium ball...probably in line with my 5.0 for medium conditions.  I'd say a good step up would be the Machine.  I acquired a Machine not too long ago and it definitely handles more oil than the 5.0 and has some nice backend.

I would have to go with the Artillery if we are sticking with Symmetrical stuff...I think the Inertia, being particle, would be too much....

Sorry Track guys...but I think the Artillery would be too skid-flip.  And because of the lack of symmetrical stuff in Track's lineup...I only have one thing to say:

AMF Radar.

Artillery and skid flip do not go together...strong arc yes, but no where a skid flip like the Equation....the Artillery has a super low rg which helps it rev early in the lane...and Goo LS solid is fairly strong as well.....

Not saying that with a specific drill on a specific condition with a specific release/person that the Artillery, or any ball, could not be skid flip...but 95% of the time...I have yet to see that out of the Artillery..and I have drilled quite a few in the last 8 months....

Definately the Artillery.

The AMF Radar is more of a medium oil ball which is where the Blast tends to fit.

I agree with Carl.

Radar is more like a Heat Blast. Artillery is probably the right fit here, in the Track.
