Title: Spit Fire vs. Track
Post by: HAMMERDOWN103 on August 05, 2007, 03:05:41 AM
Which ball in Track's past/current line is the closest to the Spit Fire??? Looking for a good versatile ball if that helps sway it between a couple different balls but please list all thoughts. Thanks

Well, I'm not sure how many of us would have thrown that ball, but judging by Storm's descriptions, it looks like a med. oil ball with a strong arc.  You've got a few options from the past line: Inertia, Machine.  Keep asking, I haven't thrown a Spit Fire.

The Spit Fire is a strong ball despite its medium price.  It's got a decidedly skid/snap tendancy, though it does read the mids quite a bit more than its almost-identical Fired Up (the weight block is the same, just inverted in the Fired Up).

I have thrown the spit fire. Spinner is right the original machine is probably the closest to it. The inertia is too much of a ball. Also I think the power machine can compliment it as well.

I wonder how the Kinetic matches up to the Spit Fire?

I'd bet the Equation is close to the Spit Fire ....

I was thinking that, but is it too weak?

Would the Xception also be a close choice? I feel the Equation would be too angular(seeing as how i have two) and i would also think that the Machine would be too strong overall. Basically, im looking to lay this ball out to play a straighter line, on a shot with med-light oil and backends that i cant tell if my ball is burning up or if they are not very clean. Equation, Power Machine, Arsenal Artillery, all jumped pretty early and didnt have much backend. Thanks

I think the new Track Temper would be pretty close.Keep in mind that the trackcover will be strong so i believe the temper will still out hook it with a similiar motion.

The Heat is the closest thing you will come to a spitfire.  Core numbers and cover characteristics are almost identical.

I agree, except the Spit Fire is stronger. See my post from a few days ago comparing the two: http://www.ballreviews.com/Forum/Replies.asp?TopicID=169924&ForumID=14&CategoryID=2
