Angular Drilling ?
« on: February 25, 2005, 10:32:36 AM »
Just got an angular and not really sure how to drill it.  My pap is 5 1/2 over and 3/4 up.  I am a high tracker with medium speed and medium revs.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Ball is #16 3 inch pin and 3 oz top weight.

Thanks,

Doug.

Doug,

With a ball like the Angular, why not drill it up to show its muscle.

Try a layout like 4 1/4- 4 1/2 pin from PAP and above the ring finger, stack the CG below. This layout will allow some length, but you will be able to watch it come back from yesterday it will move so much in the backend.

Let us know how it works for you,

Hey hotshot,

I agree with Ex on the pin placement of 4.25-4.5 but with your pap of 3/4 up, you show a fair amount of tilt.  With this in mind, I'd kick the cg out right some to help it pull just a little sooner to offset that tilt some.  I have mine set up 4x3.5 and it still gives me great length with a very strong turn on the backend.  My pap is 5 over 3/4 up as well.

Either layout would work fine, just depends on the amount of length you want from the ball before transitioning from skid to hook.  Hope this helps...
