Kinetic = BEAST!!
« on: September 11, 2007, 03:30:57 PM »
Tonight was the third week of leagues, and I had a new Rival, Kinetic and Venus as of the second week.  I used the Rival exclusively last week, and had good success with it, throwing a 221 game for my first game on the THS.  (My average last yr ended at 179, for a point of reference.  221 is a great game for me!)  Well, this week I wanted to give the Kinetic a look.  I was hesitant since I did so well with the Rival the week before, and flip flopped a bit through the first game, using the Rival for a couple of frames, then the Kinetic for a frame, and so forth.  I ended with a piddly 168.  I was also fishing a lot this game, trying to find a good line, and I came up with something by the 10th, though a bit too late.

In the second game, I decided to give the Kinetic an exclusive look.  Left foot on 21, I threw the Kinetic down 12, crossed 10 at the arrows and out to 8 or so.  WOW!!  When this ball turns the corner, it is NOT KIDDING AROUND!!  Even me, a speed dominant bowler without a ton of hand was making the ball scream back to the pocket.  I've heard before of balls that explode at the breakpoint, I just never had one that did it for me.  The Kinetic is all that and a bag of chips.  I had plenty of miss room to the outside, and only left a single open in the game.  I left a pocket 5-7 in the fifth, when I didn't quite catch enough of the ball.  I just barely missed picking it up, but left an open.  Well, that didn't really matter, as I went off the sheet from there for a nice 255 game.  That's a PHENOMENAL game for me, and higher than any game I threw last year in leagues.

In the third game, I still had really good success, but carry was a little suspect as the heads dried out, I still finished with a 192.

Needless to say, next week I only plan to bring two balls out of the bag, the Kinetic and my plastic, though it's questionable if I'll even need the spare!!

If this is true of course, it contravenes a number of the league's by-laws, and article 27 of the league...

Sorry to dampen your enthusiasm, but a word from the wise:

You don't know what the conditions will be like next week. What if you need the more rounded (earlier too?) breakpoint the Rival offers you? What if you need the extra length in the Venus? It almost sounds to me like you could use the Rival the first game, then the Kinetic, then the Venus...

In any event, nice shootin'

Rev--

I'll still have the Rival and Venus with me, I just plan to start with the Kinetic.  I think I should be able to use it for all 3 games, we'll see.

MrB--

I can't remember the exact numbers, but I believe it's around 4 1/2 pin to PAP with the MB at 60 degrees maybe?  The pin is right and above my ring, and the MB is below the thumb and a bit right, just a bit.

Thx i was hoping your drilling was close that is the ball reaction i want out of it, my mb is off too the right but it is only .006 so it will not affect it as much as the pin placement.

Got one last night along with a Temper,

temper will surprise a lot of people as it hooks a lot more than I thought it would, but picks up in the midlane.

Kinetic I was a little disappointed and first with it, but once i got a little track in it the ball started to roll like everyone on here says, goes very long and then just drives.

I bowl with mike Austin on WEd nights and i started to use Kinetic beginning of game two, well could not carry to save my life had all spares until the 9th frame ha ha, then 3rd game the ball carried everything in the pocket and shot 256, so give the ball a chance before putting it up.

Chris, I had a similar experience with the Kinetic.  It needed a couple games and a tiny bit of wear to start to really come to life for me.  Before that, it wasn't quite making the corner.  Now I've thrown it exclusively for the last 3 weeks of leagues, and my average jumped from 179 to 193.  The ball just gives me all the room I want on the right, and it still always seems to have GREAT continuation.  I haven't QUITE got it figured out in the first game, but just about (196 this week, opened the first frame).  The second and third games have been money with it, though (222 and 225 Tuesday, for a 643, almost as high as my highest series last year)!

As an aside, I should mention that I really worked on my game over the summer.  It isn't ALL the ball, but if I hit my target with the Kinetic, it's all over but the cryin'!
