Hey everyone...well, the countdown is near. There should be a 15# Track Slash arriving on my doorstep around around Thursday of this week. I'm planning to use this as my Benchmark Ball.
Specs on this ball: 15.4lbs - 2.75 TW - 3" pin
I'm a High-Tracker (5 1/2 over & 5/8 up) *stats in my profile*.
This ball will be my smoother rolling ball. I'm thinking of Pin under the bridge or ring with with the CG kicked out a pinch just right and above thumb. I've had a an Ebonite Excel with a similar type drilling, but that was asymmetrical and the MB was in the strong position (too much ball for most mediums). Rick will be drilling this at his shop, so I would love to hear from him and everyone else that wants to chime in!
I figure if I keep the pin under the bridge it would keep the ball from "Jumping" off the backend. If the lanes are a little slicker, I can square up. If the backends are pretty fresh, then I can just accomodate by moving left.
Thanks guys & gals!
Regards,
Ram

I think you have the right idea. Rick may adjust from there, but in general, I do agree with you!
Good Luck with the Slash, I am sure you will enjoy!

ram,
I think that layout would be good for what you say you want. Alot of that would be determined by the lane conditions you are going to bowl on. General thoughts on that layout though are: it is going to give you a smooth reaction throughout the entire lane. A nice smooth arc and the slash is not going to be too jumpy off of the backend.

Hey Ram,
You have a pretty good understanding now of what layouts do what so all I need to do now is to teach you how to drill..
You're on the right track....we can discuss more later at the shop.
