Rule,FreakaZoid,and Hexplosion
« on: July 15, 2004, 03:13:11 PM »
Okay guys, finally talked to Bakes about the new balls.  Here's what he had to say (great guy btw).  He watched Ameleto and Learn do some testing but said these guys were too hard to tell. Ameleto makes everything look good was the comment.

Rule: Reactive - High Performance
Very strong recovery from the midlane, saw the ball in Vegas too and said where it was normally OB/hang, the guys were able to bring it out of there.  Based on the higher rg(than the Untamed), this should get down the lane easier with a strong arcing motion in the back because the diff is listed at only .046.  His comparison was that it looked like a stronger Unleashed.

FreakaZoid: Reactive - Mid Price Plus
Just like we expected, very smooth and controlled.  Clean thru the heads and less backend than the Freak.  We both agreed this would also be a very nice ball for guys who still like to hit up on it and not have it hook off the lane.  He was very interested personally in this ball.

Hexplosion: Lite Particle - Mid Price
Unlike what I mentioned before about more length, he now said it actually has more hook than the Crash due to it's particle cover.  Same weightblock as the Hextreme, he didn't get to see this ball a whole lot.  Good introductory ball that offers more hook at an affordable price.

My personal choice?  I still want the FreakaZoid, too many O/U house shots around and this sounds very nice and controlled.  Shouldn't have to take away too much of the balls power/potential because of my speed either, I'm very eager to throw this one!

Alright, I picked mine, what's yours???

What price point do they plan on having the Hex-plosion at? My guess is right along where the crunch time, crash, dry heat are. If that is the case it is not going to really rival other companies stuff in the low price point.....granted it should definately end up being a better ball than the scouts, tornados etc...but it will more than likely end up being stronger as well.

The Rule sounds better the more I hear about it. From what I have read though you are getting early roll but with a strong backend. It was mentioned that it would be a benchmark skid flip ball....doesn't early roll contradict skid/flip? I will be at a trade show this week and I believe that Del will be there so maybe I can get the info from the sournce directly.

All in all thought the 3 new releases sound VERY interesting. 3 totally different reactions.....and 2 more reactives coming. That is great.

So, correct me if I'm wrong.......

The Rule and FAZ will complement each other very nicely....yes ? One early and smooth, the other longer and more angular......

Hey Jeff,

You mention "smart" people but I'll answer anyway.  These 2 balls based on numbers should definately make your "1-2" punch.  With the FreakaZoid(polished) having a very low rg, it should pull early while the Rule is showing the higher rg, it should get down the lane fairly easy with just some head oil and have a nice strong arcing backend.

Well Rick, now that you mention it, I wasn't referring to you !

Rick, saw the add, factory finish says "compound" ...so I'm not sure how it's going to come box....

Thanks

Sorry, didn't even see the add yet.  Still basing on the BBR specs, unless that has changed also...

BBR shows it polished, the add shows it compound, so......I'll send it to ya!
