Artillery vs Equation?
« on: July 31, 2006, 04:23:38 PM »
Has anyone done any comparisons between these two? I'm hearing about how much backend the Equation has, how does the Artillery stack up to it, since they have the same cover?

If you read my review on the Equation, I did compare it to the Artillery as well as the Heat Blast.

Buck,

Although I have not thrown my Equation very much yet (just no time between trade shows, revamping the shop, 3 kids, etc) I can tell you this. While they both have Goo Ls, the Equation is pearl (same mix as the Xception) and the Artillery is not. With that said, the Artillery is sooner for me and smoother ont he back. I think its a combo of the solid cover and the lower rg core. Plus, the pearl in the Equation helps it get down the lane better and the dense titanium nugget helps it out as well....

Both of mine are drilled pin under fingers on mid, cg kicked out toward VAL about 2 inches...I forget starting tops...

The reason I'm asking is that I have the Artillery (undrilled), and want to have it complement my Heat Blast.

I also have a Blast drilled indentical to both of these..(this is my favorite drill obviously) and the Blast is not as soon as the Artillery but just as smooth oevrall...I do think the Blast does back off a tisker more when there is more oil compared to the Artillery....

Thanks, Clint. Can you describe the backend shapes of both, and how deep can you go with each?

The Artillery opens up the lane much more than the Blast. It finishes harder off of the dry.

With identical layouts the Artillery is sooner reacting and harder off of the dry. The Artillery is not nearly as strong at the breakpoint as the Equation.

Are you trying to decide if the Equation would be a better fit with the Blast?

Just wondering. I'm waiting for the seminar on the 13th with Del to see what he would say. I want to make sure I have enough separation with the Blast. Also, between the Blast, Equation and Artillery, which has the most length?

The Blast will have more length........

I get more length out of the Equation though due to layouts.

Cool...

I want my arsenal to go like this:

Aggressive: Least length
Artillery: More than Aggressive
Blast: More than Artillery
Desert: Most Length

You've got it correct there Buck.  My Artillery also starts up sooner then my Equation but at my slower ball speed, I'm getting more use out of the Equation.

Now if I want to add my 5.0 in there, then:

Aggressive: Least length
Artillery: More than Aggressive
5.0?
Blast: More than Artillery
Desert: Most Length

Is that correct?
