New Ball
« on: April 15, 2004, 05:11:34 PM »
Guys,
I am thinking of picking up a new ball over the Summer. Right now I'm using the Crunch Time which I like but the oil pattern seems to be changing in my house, it's getting heavier. I throw from the corner over the 4th or 5th board with above average speed. Any suggestions?? I was thinking Animal or Phenom Unleashed. Thanks

Animal would be better for mid-lane action, ....Unleashed for backend...depends on what shape and reaction you like, or what  will complement YOUR game better.

For me, the Animal makes more sense...I need forgiveness in the mids....

Also, the Animal will handle more oil than the Unleashed. The Unleashed is a lighter load particle than the Animal is. Personally, I use a Super Freak for heavier oil. You may be able to find one on here real cheap or even at an online store pretty cheap as well. They were discontinued so I would assume the prices of them will be relatively low.

You really cannot go wrong with either. Jeff is correct though, it is really going to depend on the kind of reaction you are looking for. Do you want a stronger read in the midlane or do you want a stronger backend reaction?

If the Crunch Time is the ball you are currently using and the oil is just getting a little too heavy for that ball, then the Unleashed may be the better choice for you. However, if your ball speed is that high more than likely you will need the stronger roll in the midlane. I would suggest going with the Animal. Use it with the surface in factory condition and if that is not enough, have your proshop lightly sand it down.

NOTE: This is a generic post, primarily because we do not have enough info on your game. So this is post is using just general thought.
