This will be my 5th season of League bowling. The first 2 we were the laughing stocks of the league and were basically there for the beer. The last 2 years I have been soaking up information and trying to put things together. Thursday nite I had my best series ever- 192, 224, 248 and I owe it all to you guys. I have learned so much about epuipment and how to apply it to lane conditions in the last 9 months since I found this forum. We have pretty dry lane conditions at my house and I threw an Animal Untamed the first 2 games but noticed it was starting to get to be a bit much by the end of the 2nd game. I pulled out a polished up Crash for the last game and kept throwing the 35-15 line I am comfortable on and threw the 248. My team gave me crap about putting away a ball I was having a fair amount of success with after 2 games but they shut up when I ran off the first 5 strikes of the 3rd game. Thanks to all the staffers who have started to give me enough knowledge on how to read the lanes.

Hey Jimmy,
Good for you...good job. Equipment and layouts are important in scoring these days but knowing how to line up and play the shot correctly with the piece in your hand is even more important. Keep up the good work and anytime you have a question, just ask away.....we're here to help.

Thanks guys. It has taken me this long to figure out what kind of bowler I am and i think I have a pretty consistent delivery. It took alot of trial and error but I am getting there. Next on the list is a ball I can use on heavier oil patterns that I saw at the first tournaments I entered last year. The Untamed I have luck with on my house shot seemed to over/under in heavier oil. I want to break 700 now that I have seen some success with Track products.

You need to take more credit though, as we can only suggest drilling/help in certain areas...you could have the right ball in your hands but it is still up to you to throw it. Great work and keep it up!

Just wish I had taken up bowling earlier. I was 34 when I started 5 years ago. Me and some buddies were getting to old to play Y basketball and bowling sounded fun. Had some good coaching, the lanes guy holds a 205 average at 72 years old. He is a wealth of knowledge and a real inspiration. It feels good to know we used to be laughed at and now me and another guy on the team get asked to be in the scratch pot by the higher average guys and win occasionally.
