how's this ball as far as oil handling...i know it's only about a year or so old, but as far as "todays" oil, how would it do. have a chance to get one and just wondering what to expect. would it handle more oil being dull than my polished delta?

The Freak will definately handle more oil than a polished Delta....however the Delta will ofcourse backend more.

For its time (roughly 3 yrs nearly 4 yrs ago) the Freak moved quite a bit. It is still pretty strong....naturally depending on surface prep and layout.

I have one, and I still love it. It's the only thing I have that can flip over in heavy oil. Don't expect it to cover  a ton of boards, however, but it does move. BEWARE. As with any particle, lack of hook on med-oil lanes means there isn't enough oil for the lane, and the ball is burning up. The ball for me is really even for oily lanes. You can polish it, which I have done, to handle less oil.

A buddy of mine has one, drilled with the pin just below and right of his ring finger with the MB out on the VAL.  It's very even and controllable and in its original surface prep, it was pretty strong.  He's got tons of games on it now and while it's not the first ball out of the bag anymore, he uses it from time to time.  Medium-heavy is about right, I think.

I had a Freak a while back and loved it. I regret getting rid of it now. It handled just about any amount of oil I saw. Its a really good ball, and is worth a shot if you can find one these days. I'm not sure how it would be as far as compared to the Delta, as I haven't thrown the Delta, but I don't think they would overlap. I've been looking for one myself, but I can't seem to find one that isn't outragously priced. Where are you planning on getting yours?
