Title: The New Website...
Post by: J_Mac on August 01, 2007, 03:57:23 AM
Hopefully by posting this I don't cause the new site to collapse under the weight of all the new traffic.

To Rick and Carl -

How much of a pain would it be to make the numbers for all ball weights a part of the new site?

The new site is great!!! J Mac, I'm sure they'll put all the numbers for all weights, and they better as I throw 14 lbs. Kudos to everyone involved, it was worth the wait. Now, fellas, I want the same things as the Ebonite site, nothing more, nothing less. As soon as everybody catches their breath, I would like to see a Flaming T hat, Track license plate, and some shirts, especially T-shirts that I can buy direct from Track/Ebonite. I haven't been too happy over the last year or so, but I can say I'm pretty pleased right now!

I'm telling you those guys saying the new site is great in the other thread are teasing.  Everyone who has complimented it has a smiley at the end (like this /).

It is real! It's so pretty! I swear!

Haha, jk about the smileys. It is really real. Maybe for some computers it's just not working. I'm running on Verizon DSL with Internet Explorer version.. don't know. But still. It is real! Maybe Carl/Rick will come and confirm this, and fix the problem few are having.

Guys, I went right to the new site at 2PM and it is great and, no I'm not kidding you. But I'm trying to get back on it right now and I'm having problems getting back on. I have Comcast and now... I'm getting the "cannot find server" message. Anyways, I've seen it and you guys who haven't will like it. I'll try again later. Oh and by the way, you guys may have to re-register to Track Nation/Legion. I just registered and entered my old username and password and it took it.

Paul,

I used your link and got the old website.  Very strange.  At work, all I can get is the old website.  I went home for lunch and used my computer, and got into the new Track website.  Even stranger is that I have never tried to access the Track website from work, but I have from home.  I'll try and clear out the cache and see what happens.  I'm liking the new website!

If it was a .pdf you'd probably be okay, but they decided to use a .doc file type. Open Office does open it, but it looks garbled.

What browsers are you guys running on that can see the new site?  I still get the old one when I type in http://www.trackbowling.com/  -  If the address is the same, how come I get the old one?  Wouldn't its existence become virtually discarded?  Help me out; fix the bug.

It comes up on both of my browsers... perhaps the new site hasn't been updated on the servers closest to you?  Not that I'm even sure that's a possibility.

Carl/Rick

One suggestion

Pet Peeve: I hate when they show the specifications of a ball and just throw a number at you with no indication of what it means.

I would like to see specifics when listing ball specs, either by showing figures on a certain scale, or perhaps a graph or chart that indicates each ball's potential. For instance: a certain scale with length or backend on 1-10, 1-30 scale or whatever. Pick a scale on how to gauge the ball and stick with it.

It was consistant to a degree for a short time and the next thing you know they just throw out a number and then it becomes nothing but confusing for the consumer. Just throwing out a number means nothing. Length 18, backend 43 means nothing.

Length 10 - next to the number just put on a scale of....

Backend 43 -  on a scale of ...

It just makes sense

Do you follow me?

Rick just wanted to bring it to your attention that I found a couple of errors.
1 Rising specs have the Int. Diff. listed in both Int. Diff. and Diff.
Diff should be .052 if the marketing materials sheet for the rising is correct.
2On the products page it shows the Tape Tool but the link directs you to the towel.

The issues stated have been turned in and will be addressed. The ball weight issue has been noted as well and Fig is aware of it.

As for the issue of the hook scale:
Guys/gals this is our own scale. Having a ratings scale like this is difficult because everyone will take them in a different way.

Our scale is set to compare the balls within our line. These numbers are used to indicate how they compare given 2 different things: 1- comparing them before holes are drilled and 2- comparing them given the same bowler with the same layout on each.

Just trying to keep it simple.
