Is the darkside pba approved? I don't see it on the list and dont want to show up to a regional with it and not be able to throw it, thanks.

No the darkside is NOT a PBA approved ball although I cannot understand why as it is ABC approved and made by a company whose products are allowed on the PBA tour. I had a Track staffer in my shop during a Tour Stop a few months back and he was curious about the ball as I had them and he had never seen them..he made a few calls and found out that he would not be able to use it as it was never "officially" released.  Perhaps regionals have different regualtions but I doubt it..I'd e-mail or call your regions director and find out for sure.

Not sure why this is weird.
From the available info (a lot of discussions on this forum), the ball was never officially released; it was a failed experiment. One theory was that it was too expensive to make and there was a test run of 500 balls. They were "dumped" to a distributor who "dumped" them, in turn. Several Pro shops picked them up and they were quickly sold relatively cheaply.
