... but he also has a Phoenix for sale, at the same starting bid as the Strike Machine. I will watch those auctions just to see if the "reserve price" ever gets met, but I doubt either will hit the magic number for him...

I think his buy it now prices are indicative of his drug habit cause it is obvious he has been smoking something.

I have 2 Strike Machines sitting here, but they are drilled. You think I might get $150 since they are so rare?

Lets say this ball was reasonable at like 50 bucks. Just based upon the pics of this ball, I would say that it would be hard to actually make this ball legal. If you look where the MB and the CG are located at if they are marked as shown, you would end up having a lot bottom weight. The ball would hit like a mushroom.

Nobody's even mentioned that shipping is free. With e-bay, you have to look at the total price, not just the purchase price or the shipping costs. What's the difference if it costs $450 with free shipping or $100 with $350 shipping?

wow where is all the love...if some one would like to sell either a phoenix or strike machine on ebay for less so be it good luck but to tell me im on drugs for selling these 2 balls.I have watched ebay for some time and have not seen a strike machine either a first or second for sale so I came up with a price. This is the second and last phoenix i have and last time i checked none were left for sale so if someone wants to purchase one and has the cash here it is.Last thing track balls as we know it are gone period.
-
Wow. Going to keep an eye on these. I have both the Strike Machine, and Phoenix, 14pd. NIB, first quality. Lets see what the results are.
-
It's a second because of pin placement. You would have to drill the holes to China to get it legal.

I guess no one heard of using a weight hole, must be a new concept in some pro shops.

Let's see and have you try to level that ball out with all of that thumb weight. Of coarse a weight hole will be involved.

it all depends on what type of solid or adjust thumb you use...
-
If he had it a reasonable price I would by it because of the pin placement, it would be a perfect ball to do a trick layout with. Being a 2ND is not that big of a deal, most of the wins last year for TJ came with a X-out One.

Thats a wee bit rediculas, O and I know where a guy is hording like 5 more Phoenix's so no worries there is still $5000 for somebody to spend out there on Track balls. HA!
The rediculas part... You can get the same reactions out of balls that are MSRP of 160.. So yeah... do what you want I guess. Even better is that by bowl expo, the Phoenix will be cleverly clad under the Global 300 lable and nobody will pay attention to it.
-
Granted the price is ubsurd but the ball could very easily be drilled and not have the CG be in all that unusual of a place.
Example:
5.5 x 3 pin up 3.75 this would place the pin over my middle finger and with the MB at 3" from PAP the CG would be within 1/4" of the midline, you would need a large balance hole to remove the side weight but that is a benefit IMHO.
The reason being punch it up go throw it for a few games and see how it reacts then decide where you want to place the hole. With the CG that close to the midline you would have a decent range to place it to get the desired result.

There is a reserve on this as well as a buy it now, they are different.I also seen clear skull balls sell for more than they were worth as well as a old AMF titan. We will see.......
Good luck to all

One other thing there have been almost 411 lookers and a huge amount of them that have this on there watch list..All in a 26 hour time span...
-
The price is high, but then again alot of times you lose money selling on ebay. I have a first quality 15lb strike machine in my bag and if I had to go down to one ball it would be the one. Very versatile, hits hard and carries well.

Several years back, I sold a couple balls a while back for my local pro on eBay. His thoughts were that since the balls "retailed" for $268 in his shop, that they should easily bring $125-$150 on eBay. My thoughts were that since they were used, he's be luck to get $50 for them. When all was said and done, I sold 9 high-end balls and the "average" selling price for each one was $55.
The moral of this story is that everyone has a "perceived" value. However, eBay runs by determination of the market value. If you can get the two to overlap, you are in business.. if not, no sale.
With that being said, I'm surprised the Strike Machine has been bid up to $153. Its a pretty good looking ball, and may be rare, but its still a 2nd. In general, there isn't too much on eBay that breaks the $150 barrier.
Good luck selling these. Who knows, maybe you will find the special person!

The reason why there are so many who are watching this is to see what sucker buys this ball. I don't care if it's a first quality ball. This ball in no way shape or form is worth no more than 110.00 NIB not a 2nd.
