Title: Thrash layout/reaction
Post by: qstick777 on April 22, 2005, 04:34:48 AM
I currently have a Thrash laid out with pin above ring, and cg in center of grip.  I don't really have a problem with this layout, but the reaction is almost identical to my Nemesis (pin under ring and cg in center).  Both are in box finish.

What, if anything, can I do to get more length out of the Thrash?  Also, what is the best condition for the Thrash?

Hey qstick,

I'm a little surprised to hear you get the same reaction from these 2 balls.  Isn't your Nemesis dull?  I would think the Thrash naturally goes longer with more backend but...maybe the condition you're on is s little on the drier side so both balls are rolling up on you, that may be the case here.  Just to get you more length, I'd also agree with the polish to see if you can get more length out of it.

Yeah, both are in box finish.  Nemesis I think is 800 matte finish, and Thrash is 1000.

I think the Nemesis is 2-3" pin and I had it drilled to roll earlier (layout 2e I believe) - conditions are usually medium to heavy.

Thrash I believe is 3-4" pin - not sure which layout it is on the sheet (don't have any of that stuff in front of me).  I see on the Track site that the Thrash is meant to have a strong arc and medium conditions, although I've heard its good for light to medium.

Figured I would ask you guys and see if that sounds right.  I took them both to practice figuring that I would use the Thrash when the lanes broke down, but was surprised that the lines were almost identical.
