what ball would be the best choice to use for down and in playing up the 8 or 10 board. im a tweener at around 15 mph and i need a ball that has enough length to make it without hooking early like my current balls do.And have a strong arc to finish on the backend. Im going to be playing on a med oil ths.

I cant comment on the Threat. I bought one used, but only used it a few times before giving it to a teammate. I dont remember anything about it other than it (in its surface condition and drilling, used on my league conditions) did not give me a look that I already did not have with another ball I owned, so that is why I gave it to someone else to try. I did not try any surface changes or different layouts like I would normally try.
The Thrash I bought used also and it was supposed to be 15# but when my driller checked it out, it weighed in at 16# but I decided to plug and drill it up anyways just to see what it was like. Glad I did. This was not a big-hooking ball for me. Good length and decent backend. I would normally play up the ten board, just riding the oil line, and the ball had great pin action and carry for me. I was impressed enough with it to try to find a 15# NIB one, but could only find a Bonanza version in 15#. I drilled that up but the reaction was somewhat different. It had a bit more length and a milder backend. The results were pretty similar. I had 279's with both balls in the same season. The 16# was just a bit too heavy of a weight for me but I actually preferred the reaction of that one more. The Thrash was not a ball that I could use in deeper than the 15 board and was better for me around 10 board. Remember, different styles, lane conditions, ball surface/drilling will yield different results, but that was what I saw.

I have a 14lb Thrash. I also throw around 15 mph and am somewhere between and stroker and tweener (depends on which ball I'm throwing).
It was always a good ball for me, but the reaction was very similar to another ball which fit me better (thumb in the Thrash was a little too big so I had to squeeze). I was able to fix that with some Magic Carpet, but for some reason I just felt more comfortable with the other ball so I never really used the Thrash.
That being said, it was a good ball on a freshly oiled league shot. Very smooth arc and not too jumpy on the dry.

It is very difficult to say which would best for you as a down and in type of ball. So much of this depends on your style and the way the lanes are oiled where you bowl.
THAT ASIDE: if I had to answer I would say that the Threat would be easier to play down and in with on most conditions. The Thrash tends to roll pretty quick once it encounters a sniff of friction.

here is another vote for the threat, great ball for that shot, its what i used mine for, but i have since moved to 15lbs but still use it if the lanes have dried out alot as i can put alot more speed on it since its 14lbs
not to mention its the best looking ball track has ever made, black, dark purple, and silver looks so good together
