TKO Contender Compared to Newer Equipment
« on: February 28, 2006, 02:03:02 AM »
I am currently in the market for some new equipment.  Right now I the hardest hooking ball in my bag is a Contender.  Is there any ball in the current line up that can be compared to this ball.  The reason I am asking is because I am getting mix opinions on what type of lane condition this ball is for. Also depending whether this is a medium-heavy or a heavy oil ball.  Could anyone recommend a ball that would go well it and the rest of my line up.

Current line up

1) Contender (drilled to roll early)
2) Freak A Zoid (drilled to roll early)
3) Triton Heat (Drilled to roll early)
4) Heat (drilled to roll late)
5) Blue Enforcer (Drilled for an even roll)
6) Desert Heat (Drilled to late)
7) Boxing glove spare ball

cficare,

The Contender was an oil ball for its time, compared to the equipment of today it would fit in the med/heavy category type.

The only addition I could pick for your arsenal would be to take the place of the Contender as your oil ball. Depending on your game and style I would suggest adding a Robo Rule as your oil ball. The difference here is that you can get the Robo drilled to roll early, but it will also retain more energy for the backend than the Contender would.

Goodluck,

Yes, the GP2 would work just fine!
