to my suprise
« on: April 17, 2007, 01:55:55 PM »
I just won a mean machine off ebay for 10.00 plus shipping. I am almost scared now because they were flying like hot cakes and now i get one for that price. Its got a drill on it so i wont know till i get it whether its gonna get plugged and redrilled or use it as is maybe just plugging the thumb.
Anyone with any drilling tips would really be appreciated. I am thinking pin over bridge, i am finding this drill to really work well for me gives good lenght with an extreme snap on the back. I am hoping this ball will give me that on a heavier concentration of oil,its what i was hoping for any way.

I know pin under ring was the best drilling for me. The ball was amazing for heavy.

From the reviews I've read, placing the pin under the middle finger is an excellent way to go.

$10!?!

I have mine with pin in ring, I get great midlane read and great backend movement. For me the pin in ring finger on everything is very strong but clean through the heads.

Scoot - how far does this place the pin from your pap?  Also, how far is the MB indicator from your pap?

Pin over will go longer with more of a flip, but is not a true oil drilling. Please refer to the drill sheet for the MMachine. If you know your PAP coordinates, you can choose the appropriate drill. If you are a true low tracker(<3-1/2), pin over bridge might be close to leverage (3-1/2 to 4). Pin under would make the ball read the midlane earlier, but less backend. I don't know what you definition of heavier oil is?? It is hard to have a ball set up for heavier oil that has substantial backend especially for a low tracker/revs/speed. As I said - give Carl a ring.

Scoot....thanks.  After I left my post I did find that info and picture in your profile.  I have laid mine out 4 1/8 (pin) x 3 1/8 (mb).  I will be picking it up today and hopefully getting to use it tonight.

Apparently the Mean Machine is supposed to be a big hooker/oil ball?  Glad I didn't know that before I bought a used one because it had a 1" pin that I was looking for.  Drilled it to ignore the backends and go pretty straight and it does.  Hits real good though.  I don't know track stuff well anymore, but is it possible that this ball is just very versatile?

BTW, what is OOB condition of the Mean Machine?  My driller put mine at 4000.  That about right?
