Crunch Time

I had alot off success with my crunch time early in its life, but about after 70 games or so it lost all of its hook, so i resurfaced it i took it down to 400 then brought it up to 1000 and put some track magic shine on it and the ball still reactes like crap i used to be able to really swing this ball on the same exact shot i have been shooting on since the start of the season.  Does anyone have any advice on what i should do to the ball or what i should do period to have this ball turn the corner again.  Please let me know.

Hey bigfish,

Try the 400-600 then add magic shine to that.  As mentioned before in another thread, it's very important what grit you use under a polish that really affects how much friction a ball can create.  Personally from my Haus machine, I use 2 grits of sanding but only use the finer grit(about 800) when the balls are designed to go longer or are made for drier conditions.  Try this and see if it helps...

I like the 400-600 under the polish. This will help it pick up a little more.

600 or 800 then polish but before have you had the ball baked to remove the oil the ball might be loaded up and that kills the ball have all the oiled baked out good luck

Also, just because it's a pearl (actually 1/2 pearl and 1/2 solid) does not mean it has not absorbed enough oil to reduce its performance considerably. It may need to have its absorbed oil extracted. I cannot say for sure, but oil absorption is a major reason for reduced hook. Try Columbia's CPR and see if that helps.
