Track 3 ball arsenal ??
« on: December 14, 2010, 06:40:10 AM »
Ok, never using anything but Big-B and Lane#1 I've been thinking of trying something different... What would be a good 3 ball arsenal for THS and in a Tough Shot league..

Little about me...
LH'd... 15+-16+ mph at the deck.. P.A.P.  5 3/4 1" UP
Axis 17* - Axis Rot - 75*... Track Circ- 11"
Bowl on synthetics.. Medium med/hvy...

I like a smooth arching ball,controllable reaction...

Heavy =
Med =
Ligt =

Don't think I've left anything out.. so.. what you guys think ?

As a former brunswick throwing lefty I can help you here.

I use the same arsenal on house and sport shots, but I have a few more than 3.  I'll give you the three for your clasifications.

HVY:  715T
MED:  505T
Light:  505A

Because these are Asymmetric you can create the shot shape you are looking for with you Mass Bias location, so all can be flippy or have an arc motion to them.  I use both as they work for different conditions.

715T Heavy
505T Med/Med heavy
505A/300C...med/Med light

You cant beat Track! I have 715T/607A/505T and love them!!!

Not too bad for a 3 game set.  I can usually pick a ball and stay with it most of the night and just chase the oil if it goes away.  So far the last three weeks, week1 i threw the 715t all 3 games, moved 2 boards between game2 and 3.  Week2 i threw the 505T, moved 1 board beginning of game 3, week 3 the 505A, was playing the low volume part of the lane, had to move 3 boards that night but was able to keep a good look all 3 weeks.

I probably could have changed balls instead, started with 715, then 505t/a as the line dried up, but to each his own.

I laughed soooooo hard at this for two reasons.

1.  I've seen jdball bowl.
2.  It's just freakin funny!

Oh and to actually reply to original post

Heavy = 715T
Med = 505T
Light = 505A/300c

Like Jd said all of tracks equipment (outside of the 300c) is asym. and very very tunable.  Also remember SURFACE, SURFACE, SURFACE!  Message me if you have any specific questions about each ball in our line or email me @ dave@bestbowlingproshops.com  This goes for anyone else as well.

I have:

916AT
607A SE
300C

Have thrown the 916AT for a couple weeks know, about 6 games with the 607A SE, and 300C.  Haven't really had enough dry for the 300C.  Polished the 916AT.  I think these three could cover just about anything as far as the THS go.  Just my opinion tho!!!

I have been experimenting with a 920t and am convinced that you could use it in any position with the correct cover prep an drilling.

are you bowling on only a house shot or do you bowl on patterns as well?

If only THS then I think your over thinking it. 3 balls for league is a ton. I use 1, maybe 2 max. League is the easiest a pattern will ever get.

2 ball: 715T and 505T (adjust surfaces accordingly)

3 ball: 916AT, 715T, 505T (adjust surfaces accordingly)

hope this helps.
