First Impressions: 505C (Week 2)
« on: June 20, 2009, 01:05:10 PM »
After much anticipation on getting a new Track ball and filling a gap in my gear I got my 505C drilled up today and took it for a little test drive this evening.

I wanted it drilled to use it for shorter oil patterns but also have more of a controlled backend. Got to throw it on some lanes that was used from league and open bowling from Thursday night but it still had a decent amount of oil on the front part of the lanes. Since the lanes were already opened up I started playing 15 board to about the 7 board at breakpoint and for the most part got some good shots though it did go left of the pocket at times.

Moved more inside and played it 18 board to 7-5 at breakpoint and got the reaction I was looking for. It gets through the heads very nicely and it does want to rev up a little more halfway down the lane. Backend is everything I read about, very smooth and controlled. I was also very pleased with the carry once it reached the pocket. I should have a full review with a video posted next weekend after I put some more games on it and use it for the upcoming tourney in Louisville.

Keep us posted.  I won't get to check it out until next week.  the pro shop owner is going to let me use his.  Your layout is similar to the one I have on my Power Machine.

I may have one coming...

Local Track staffer has two and I really like the color scheme, but they were on a funky sport pattern so it was difficult to tell how much of what I was seeing was the ball or the oil pattern.

I wanted to bowl more with it but I didn't have a whole lot of time. The only other ball I ever had with that same layout was with The One a few years back and that ball didn't work out for me. The colors definitely reminds me of the Xception.

Alright, got to throw alot more games with it tonight and I'm even more impressed with it. Similar oil pattern as last week but abit longer oil this time. Waited until I bowled about 7 games to try it and it's very, very consistent on the backend. Even when I was off by a few boards it's room for error was very good and still pull off a 9 or strike. To my surprise it seems to check up abit earlier than my Power Machine but that could be due to the lower RG. The lady at the shop who ordered the ball for me was so impressed she was getting other people from the league next to me to come down and watch me throw it. I will work on getting the full review and video ready once I get back from the tournament in Louisville on Monday.

Stroker/Tweener. I have medium revs and don't cover alot of boards unless I'm playing it out from the 18 board. Wrist injury this past year or so has reduced my rev rate abit.
