Track: Blast from the Past -- Part 1 -- Triton Elite Vid!
« on: November 12, 2006, 08:11:49 AM »
HEY FASTTRACKERS!

In this first installment, we go back to 1998 when the Triton Elite was released. Without a shadow of a doubt, this was the ball to have back then. This ball doesn't see alot of playing time because of the absolute FLIP it gives me. It is too much for me to control during league! This ball turns on the backend harder than my Equation! Nothing in my bag has this type of reaction which is why I always keep it just incase I encounter a condition where I can't get anything to turn the corner! Enjoy FASTTRACKERS! Comments and feedback are always welcomed in my thread! Stay tuned for Part 2...God Bless You All! Have a great week!

Triton Elite is where it's at!  What can I say...I have thrown one several times and it is one of the most consistent, powerful balls...the one I have thrown was drilled stacked leverage, with a high gloss polish, thing just skids down the lane and makes a dramatic backend move every time.

I am assuming that this is the Pearl. My solid was a purple matte ball.  Did not remember the Pearl having that much phasing.  Good ball in it's day.

Hmm. Not too bad. Only 5-6 shots on a vid is pretty pointless in my opinion man. Try and string a nice long video - about 3 minutes long, to show us the overall performance of the ball.

I say good video overall - Short and kind of ehhish..

HEY FASTTRACKERS!

Thanks for the feedback so far. Let me answer some questions some of you may have though.

Weaser -- No sir buddy, this is NOT the pearl...when I purchased this one off EBay, the guy told me this was the solid. When I first started throwing it, it wasn't as flippy as it is now. After some oil absorbed into the cover, it started to shine up more. The weird thing is, the more it shined up on me, the more it flips harder and harder.

JoeBowler -- Buddy, I sure wish I could take it off your hands dude. Unfortunately, I can only throw 15#.

Kenny -- Dude, with the lanes freshly done, I couldn't keep the ball right that often. Plus I was running short on time because I had to coach my youth bowlers after finishing the takes. You can rest assure that the next few installments will be longer!

Eric -- There was no carrydown present at the time I took the shots buddy. The mechanic had just oiled the lanes, so the shot had fresh backends. You may see strong mid lane; however, all I see is ultra flippy...it is nothing I have in the arsenal that is for sure.

THANKS FOR ALL THE FEEDBACK! GOD BLESS YOU ALL! INSTALLMENT # 2 OF THE TRIPLE THREAT IS COMING SHORTLY!

Yeah that one is definetly the solid.  I still have the Pearlized version of this ball that is 15lbs.  One of my all time favorite balls.  Shot the Highest series I have ever rolled using this ball (756).  Mine is stacked with the cx to the right of the ringer finger.  Although she doesn't get much action these days I still love her.  LOL.

Mike I may have to help you out some classic Track videos since I have several older Track balls.  Hummm maybe someday.

HEY GUYS!

Here is a prime example...and maybe I should have got a shot of this to prove my point...if I played up the boards...for example...aiming for 10 (2nd arrow) and standing on 20 with my feet (middle dot)...this ball would take out the 4-7 only...now that tells me 1 or 2 things...either the outsides of the house shot where I bowl at are completely dry or this ball just FLIPS. I still stand by how flippy this ball is for me. The opinions are greatly appreciated so don't take what I'm saying the wrong way. God Bless You All and have a great week!

i understand what you're saying, but i can take the 4-7 off the rack standing 20 and throwing to 10 with a robo rule, or heat blast or desert heat. none of which are considered "huge flip". Mind you as well, you could get a ball that hooks a ton, (mean machine box finsh" drilled to roll and do the same thing as well without the flip on the backend. the video looks like you're crossing around 20 at the arrows and its not getting further that 10, 7 at the most. despite you saying otherwise, i'd be willing to put a small wager that if you moved your feet 3 or 4 left, and your eyes 1 or 2 right, and throw the elite vs equation, the elite would roll out and flat 10 (lack of backend), to where the equation would get down another 4-5 feet, and have a "big backend" and kick it out. Just an observation.

Hey Eric,

Buddy...I'm serious...this ball just turns the corner harder than my Equation even. If need be...I'll put the 2 beside each other and see how they come out. I'll even put a vid of it up on here if need be...God Bless You All and have a great week!
