Track Bowling Balls - My Season
« on: September 16, 2007, 08:12:59 AM »
Hey everyone, I hope with me posting this, no one thinks i'm trying to show off anything or something like that because really, there's nothing to show off lol.

But anyways, to the point, so far, my league has been going for 2 weeks. The Inertia (pic in profile), I threw all day the first day, had a decent look, wasn't bowling my greatest, but had a 562.

The second week, which was yesterday, I threw my newly drilled Equation2 (pic in profile) for the first time in my league, and for the first time in any sanctioned action. I shot a 664 with the first 2 games being clean. Right now my average stands at 204 which is 23 pins higher than last season and I feel my bowling game/mental bowling game is going great.

I love/loved every Track product i've ever bought. That being a 4 ball roller bag, and 8 balls with more to come. This is just a post about how much I love Track, and how great they match up to my game! Can't wait to get a Temper, Kinetic, or The Rising. I'll be getting at least 1 of them!

How's everyone else's season going if you're throwing Track?

Thanks for reading

my entire ball arsenal is "track"  which consists of   POWER MACHINE (2) ---- MEAN MACHINE  ----  INERTIA  ---- RULE GP2  ---- PHENOM UNLEASHED  ---- VOO DOO ----  future ball ---- THE RISING ----  i have vastly improved my game with track equipment. i personaly feel that track balls have more power at the pin deck than other equipment. im hoping the new track equipment will be as good - if not better. but i have faith that the better will happen. track on!

So far the Kinetic has been great for me.  I shot a 255 with it the first full game I used it for in leagues.  I had the power machine but was never all that impressed with it, it was a good ball for me, not great.  The Kinetic is turning out to be what I had HOPED the Power Machine would have been, money on any medium volume condition.  I can even get it to work on lighter stuff with my ball speed.

I also used it this weekend in the ABT tourney exclusively.  I made the semis with a +51 and I was 2nd seed in the finals with +103.  Unfortunately, I still have work to do in match play.    I faced a much more polished bowler than I, and we fought to a tie in the match, but he beat me by five pins in the two frame rolloff.  I'll get 'em next time!

Mr. Lebowski, this is Bill Salnicker with the Southern Cal Bowling League, and I just got a, an informal report, that a member of your team, uh, Walter Sobchak, drew a firearm during league play. If this is true of course, it contravenes a number of the league's by-laws, and article 27 of the league...

I've been happy with my power machine but for the two nites I used it nothing to brag about, still learning the ball.my mean machine was basicly useless since I picked it up this summer because of not enough oil.hard to figure out a ball if you don't see the right conditions.last nite I had some descent oil so I pulled out the meanie, first game with 2 opens,247.second game opened in the first frame then went off the sheet for a 279.third game started off with a double but I did'nt adjust to well and the line was drying up so I started playing around with other stuff,186 = 712.not bad for second nite.I finaly found the condition to see this ball is a keeper.too bad I did'nt bring my Inertia LOL.the hit on the mean was impressive to say the least and there were many questions from the other bowlers asking what I was throwing.

The Unleashed is doing some good stuff on the fresh oil on monday nights. I've been finding i have to keep a little bit of surface on it otherwise it goes a little long and pings 10 pins. On Tuesdays the Machine should be the best bet after the lanes have opened up. I rolled a 732 with the Unleashed a few Tuesdays ago but havent quite thrown it as well since, it'll come back though im sure. If i get a dryer pair on Tuesday the Elite pearl and desert heat are always there waiting. We're changing oil from Ledgends to DBA Pro-tec this week so next week it'll be different again!! Maybe the Unleashed will work on the fresh and 2 nd shift then.

I love tracks stuff but I hate to say it. I cant use it all the time. To strong of equipment. It is almost over kill with me using it. Even after learning a release that will help me get the ball down the lane. The products are to strong, and I may be forced to go out and find some weaker stuff. Heck if you read my update in the track tourny topic, you will see I ended up using a flamin T as a strike ball. I went to it to late or I would have shot over 200 with it. The lanes I bowl at just get to dry for me to always use track. Even when they start tight (monday) my equation is so strong that I dont have to use anything much stronger. I even have the cover at a really high grit with polish on it and it was still checking up to early at some times and going through the nose. I love track stuff but I dont think I can use it on house shots.

Come on Scoot....

Your game is close to mine. One of these days, I will come over and meet you guys and we will see for sure, but with all the possible layouts and surface combinations and/or adjustments, you can't tell me that you cannot or you're no longer able to throw Track stuff. You should be able to throw the Desert Heat. Mine is drilled like yours and I can throw it after the league night right down the boards in the dry area and that area is DRY at that point. I am using the Freak Out as my first ball out of the bag and I had to use the Power Machine last Wed because the Freak Out was squirting on me.

Don't they oil the lanes in Y-Town and PA? You may need different layouts and surfaces if that is the case.

So far, my Mean Machine (on heavy flooded oil), Power Machine (on medium THS),  EQ2 (medium-heavy oil, and Desert Heat (dry lane) has been working really awesome. I'm truly blown away all balls still giving me the same look as if it was brand new. I know there's new lineup on Track, but I believe in one thing, and that is if it ain't broken, why fix it. I just wish I had the chance to pick up the Phoenix!!

702(242-204-256) tonight with the Unleashed down on the sometime nasty lanes 1 and 2. A few bad shots that went brooklyn and struck so a break or 2 helped me. We've gone to DBA pro-tec oil now which holds up a lot better than Ledgends. On the other pairs that hold up a little longer than 1 and 2 the original Phenom is pretty handy again, little earlier and smoother off the spot, now to back it up tomorrow night with another good set

For the past little while ive been experimenting with 15lb balls and surprisingly none of them are track balls. The first three nights of league and i am right at my entering average when i really should be like twenty pins higher because the shot is so much easier. So now i think im going to have to dive into my closet and get out all my 16lb Track stuff and then stick m80s in all the thumb holes of my non-track 15lb equipment... I think the weight kept me toned down and something about these balls really worked well for me. They include a Mean Machine, Power Machine, Machine, Equation, Equation2, Arsenal Artillery, and a Desert Heat. I was looking at the new stuff and was wondering if they still follow regular layouts? My shop guy was showing me a Kinetic and that there is some weird layout which gives you length with a lot of backend. So does this mean conventional layouts are out the window??? Thanks
