TRACK COVERSTOCKS?
« on: November 23, 2006, 03:31:31 PM »
Anyone know what or where I can get the grade (out of box) of Track's coverstocks?  The only one I know of is that the Rule Delta One is 900 out of box.  Right now all I can find is the name of the coverstocks.  Any help would be appreciated...Thanks.

Rick,

I just meant if it handled medium oil with its stock cover, as some reviews have suggested AND if it's already 3000 grit (thta's VERY fine level) PLUS polish, if it were sanded duller, it should, in theory handle a "significant" amount of oil. I was very surprised to see this fine a level as the stock surface.

Very true Charlest, I think you'd be right.  However, I've always personally stayed away from trying to bring up ball strength to a minimum because I found that core strengths didn't match up well for the more aggressive covers (but that was some time ago).  I wonder if the stronger cores will allow that now.  Mainly its the fact that I like my Equation so much as is, I don't want to change it..

Been there, Rick. I have such ball(s).
Still I remain amazed at the reported Equation's ability to handle true medium oil with a 3000 grit sanding PLUS polish. It has a "mystical" coverstock.
