anyone ever throw the "Flare"?
« on: November 18, 2003, 06:29:30 AM »
I'm a little new to the forums, so forgive me...
i'm 10pin2002's little brother, FWIW.

Has anyone had any experience with the Flare?  I kid not, this ball is going on 8 years old, has never been resurfaced (only bled/baked), and still goes longer and hits harder than any ball I own (messenger and zone red alert night flash).

is there something about this ball besides its incredible (by then's standards) ability to create flare?

Well I bowled with that ball as a junior...and that ball even
then went long and hit very hard. After that I've used nothing but
Track balls. In fact the Flare is a ball that ive tried to find for the
last 6 months or so.

Sure ................. I rolled a Flare.   MIne was drilled 5x5.  It did flare a ton and was difficult to control at times.   When the shot broke down, it shined for me.  Send it right ....... watch it scream back .......
Was fortunate enough to roll a perfect game with it.
String the Strikes and Fill the Frames ..... Good Bowling

Yeah, I had that ball. It was my first 2 piece reactive ball. Track was selling them from their Web site for like $40. We bought a case of them.

My ball came dull (some came polished). It was absolutely useless dull but when I polished it, it came to life. I shot my first 700 with it. Sold it a few years ago as I just had too much stuff. I liked the copper color polished up. Looked pretty cool. It was drilled stacked lev and had a tendency to roll out a little.
