Need a certian ball....
« on: June 16, 2005, 10:03:21 PM »
I think I've finally found a gap in the arsenal, but not sure what it is I need.  Here is what I got:

GP2
Silver Streak Pearl
Sensor 2/copper
Trooper

What I need is something to go in between the GP2 and the Silver Streak.  The GP2 is just a hooking monster, and the SS is kind of a smooth reacting ball, but the problem is when there is a little oil, it tends to hang.  Now the GP2 will work, but Im trying to get away from standing on 30 and throwing it out to 5, and that is no even trying to hook it.  What ball do you guys suggest for the longer oil pattern?

Yes, a Rule, Arsenal Aggressive or maybe even the new Blue Heat. But there isnt enough info out on the Blue Heat yet to tell what it is actually designed for.

Even a Slash might work. Its dull cover will pick up quicker than pearl on the Silver Streak. Aggressive and Rule would fit, and like Rock says, the Blue Heat, but we don't have enough info back yet to confirm that.

Centers,

I would go with the Arsenal Aggressive or the Xception 5.0. Both of these balls can work on heavy oil, but they do it in a different manner. The Aggressive gives a good read of the lane and offers a nice smooth arc off of the breakpoint. The Xception 5.0 will be like your Silver Streak Pearl.....ONLY much stronger. The 5.0 has a good midlane roll and backends very strong, even with carrydown present. I have been able to use it on longer patterns, but with the OOB finish I just have to square up more.

Hey Centers,

I'm with Ex on the Aggressive.  It is a stronger particle ball that will offer you a smoother reaction overall since you mentioned you want to get away from the 30-5 board shot.  Try and also drill it for a little more control and it should fit in very well.
