I thought at one time I read here that the FAZ was the closest Track ball to the OI.

Sorry, but what is the OI? Original Inferno? If so, I'd suggest Slash (polished) , Arsenal Reactive, or FAZ. It all depends on layout.

Well, he didn't ask for an identical ball, just the closest ball.

Personally I think such a request doesn't make much sense. I don't really know if he wants a ball to handle the same amount of oil, if he wants a ball that will follow the same ball path or just what he needs. Of course, then again, what he wants may not be what he needs!

What part of it doesn't make sense?  It's a very simple question.

I was thinking of picking up the FAZ or Havoc the other day to fill a gap/replace old equipment, but then again I'm going to Tulsa at the end of the month so I may pick up one of those Pro-Am Infernos instead.  Just trying not to overlap and generally prefer Track over Brunswick.

Current Line-up:

Phenom
Absolute Inferno
Sheer Havoc
SkyBolt
Hex-splosion
Triton Heat
Storm Soccer Ball

Try a polished up Arsenal Reactive. Even though it will not have the pearl of the OI, it will be somewhat close to what you are asking for!

No, it is not a simple question. Do you think I am just making trouble for you? I am not a smart a**. I was trying to help you understand what you were looking for is not a simple request. It is more complex than what you think.

I presented the way I thought you should have asked the question:
a) do yo uwant to handle the same amount of oil?
or
b) do you want the same ball path?

If you like the OI enough to want Track to produce an indentically reacting AND oil handling one (which they don't), then the correct solution is to buy another one.

Other than that, we have all offered a few different possibilities.

A FAZ pearl will not have a strong enough cover to compete with the Activator pearl on the OI. Activator is really a different animal. Possibly the GOO LS is of similar strength, but so far that is only specifically on asymmetric cores.

You might try the Arsenal Reactive as that coverstock seems quite a bit stronger than the Power Plus or the PP Ex. If you polish it a little bit, the cover seems to have some pearlization in the mix; not sure if it just looks like that or it really has it. The Rule looked like that but was not pearlized like the Xception.

Of the two balls you mentioned...I would say the heat would be close. I have thrown both. The OI starts up earlier in the midlane and can probably handle more carry down. There may be a closer ball in the line up. Definitely not the xception.

Hey boon,

I'd go with an Arsenal Reactive with some Clean and Sheen on the cover.  Don't lean on it cause that can gloss it some, just go over it lightly.  The Reactive comes close to the reaction shape of the OI but OOB it is stronger.  Hope this helps some...
