I have a Track Mutant, what ball would complement the mutant . I didn't get a chance to use this ball much . Maybe 3 games past season . So this ball still in top shape . Would the Rule be a good choice or maybe the Animal Untamed .
Let me know . Thank you

melvin,
You want a ball to complement the Mutant...but how? Do you want the other ball to handle more oil? less oil? similiar oil but with a different reaction?

If he's only been able to use it a few times this year, I might guess that it's too strong for the conditions he's bowling on.

not always.. The layout could be a bad one for him, could go straight as an arrow, burn up, etc..

I am sorry guys . Just came home from work . My mutant hooks alot . I got it drilled strong . The condition I bowled on was less oil . So I am looking for something to complement it . Who know they might put down more oil this year . I want something I can chase the oil when the heads dry up.Something to go longer . This is the only track piece I have in my bag . Thank you in advance for your answers.

Melvin, my recommendation is an Xception or Heat. Lets see what the others say.

I just close my eyes and throw the ball

Melvin, do you know your PAP, ball speed, or any info that could help Tenpins and Ex?

If yours is like mine, the backend is simply too much for some conditions. I've found that something with a much milder backend is more appropriate. As Rock suggested, a Heat would probably work well if you want to continue with a similar line. If you want to chase the oil inside, maybe the Xception would work better.

melvin,
For what you are describing I like the Xception 5.0 the best. You can chase the oil in and it will still recover strong on the backends. It is a strong ball though.
Let me ask you this, what were you using last year and how did work.....AND what kind of line were you playing with it?

PS- sorry to ask so many questions to get to one answer, but it is better to know for sure. Guessing is a bad thing with bowling equipment.

Hey Melvin,
Carl, Rick, and Clint are asking these questions because they are indeed important. Also, these 3 guys are very patience people who want to help and see somebody succeed! I have asked many questions of these guys and they have always been there with an answer. I will also try to answer your question.
Be that as it may, I did at one point in time own a Mutant. I was very discouraged by this ball. This ball hooked A WHOLE LOT! I think it was because I wasn't disciplined enough at that point in time to throw it because I didn't know as much as I do now.
Melvin, if I were to tell you my opinion on a ball and/or Track arsenal to go with I would have to say the best 1-2 combo for me has been the original Rule and original X-Ception. This is based on a typical "easy" house shot. I have found great success from these two and my average is going up gradually.
Rule:
I believe this is a very versatile reactive ball. It can handle the slick stuff and has tons of bang when it hits pins!
X-Ception:
A polished Rule is what I have always called it. Tons of backend than its sanded version, the Rule. If you get a Rule and your noticing an over/under condition, the X-Ception will make the turn on the backend!
You could probably also go with the GP2 and 5.0 1-2 combo as well. These 4 balls are what I am carrying with me too league even though I own 7 more of Track's wonderful stuff! Hope this helps and let us all know what you decided and how everything works for you!

Hey Melvin,
The 5.0 would be what I consider a step under the Mutant and the original Xception to be 2 steps under. It would be your choice as to how much a separation you want or need to fill your needs.

You're close Cody but the Mutant does have a stronger cover which will allow it to hook a little more overall. Based on Melvin's description though, I like the Xception a little better, just my opinion.
