To all Track fans,
Track is alive and strong, not to worry. Confirmation was just made with Bill Monce at Track. This was simply a business procedure on Columbia's behalf to pull Track under their umbrella legally. The name Track Inc will no longer be in existence, they were operating seperately from Columbia but now we are ONE! In order to do that, the bankruptcy filing was done and we are now Track International - subsidiary of Columbia Industries. So don't be afraid to keep buying Track balls we're STILL here! Thank you all for your loyalty and support of Track products.

so basically columbia has forced track into bankruptcy as tracks largest creditor, and will be the largest bidder for track's assets when they are sold by the bankruptcy court. that way columbia will have total control of track international, and be able to get rid of (also called screw over) all of its other creditors. is that what you're saying?
i've seen it happen too many times . . . and seen too many attorneys try to re-phrase what's really happening.
track may be fine now that it's owned by columbia . . . at least for now. if track/columbia wanted to do the right thing, columbia would have purchased all of the stock of track international, thereby giving track's other creditors some chance of recovering what they're owed. guess that's "just business", right??

Seems very unusual, from a business practices standpoint. Track wants to become a division of Columbia, so you file a chapter 7 bankruptcy petition???
Is Track trying to screw somebody out of what's owed him? Why wouldn't the owners of Track simply sell the business to Columbia? What's with the bankruptcy proceeding?

great minds thing alike . . .

i'd also like to add that there is nothing on either track's or columbia's website describing what happened. wonder why?

Bad shot,
You may want to call Track on this one because I am not in the position to speak for them regarding their business procedures. However, to my understanding, Track Inc and Columbia have had the same owner all along. They were just running as seperate entities and now for a more efficient way of processing and for streamlining the company, Track was brought over. I believe the bankruptcy filing is done so that no one else can ever use that business name(I may be wrong here). Please feel free to contact Track directly if you have additional concerns, I'm sure they'll be more then happy to answer you.

I just hope that with this going on that the equipment released under the Track name in the future will still be as good as the old stuff. Since Ebonite has been doing everything for Hammer have not heard much of them. Just keep putting out good equipment for all the Track fans.

I'm not exactly sure what you mean by "have not heard much of them", but the current line of Hammer equipment, manufactured by Ebonite, is highly-regarded.
Ever heard of Big Blue?

It isn't as though there are tons of people owed a fortune by Track. The creditors matrix for the Bankruptcy Filing showed that Arminius Select Services Corporation in Las Vegas was owed $7,500.00, Crabbe, Jones, Potts & Schmidt in Cincinnati were owed $1,585.13 and Santa Cruz Financial Services, Inc. in San Antonio was owed $1,750.00. The other claim showing an amount was Columbia with $208,318.36.
Three unsecured claims were shown with no amount of claim that all had a c/o address of William Blessing in Cincinnati.
So, yes, there are potential losses to be incurred by creditors, but we are not talking huge amounts here beyond the Columbia debt.

Around here nothing is heard of Hammer at all. For the most part if it has not been Storm,Columbia,Brunswick, or Ebonite it seems like they are not around at all. That's what I meant by that. Have not seen much of the new equipment from them sorry.

Okay guys,
One more time...there are no changes within the Track organization. Del's still the man. Nobody needs to worry about changes to product in any sense because there AREN'T any changes going on. The entire Track Inc staff is still there working hard for "us" the consumer as they always have been and will continue to do so. Nothing has changed people...no need to worry.

How will we know when its a Track ball or a Big C ball?
-
Rick,
This is good news. I wondered for a little while what I was going to have to do if I had to pick some other company's junk to throw when clearly Del is releasing the best stuff on the market!

frozzie, weezer,
read what tenpinspro wrote....it helps to read
this merge is only a business tactic, not a company/brand over take....track balls are track balls and columbia balls are doo doo balls

For those of you with questions, following please find a copy of a letter that was sent out to our distributors, etc.
Dawn Warren
In the last few days we have received inquiries regarding Track’s filing of Chapter 7. At this time, I would like to address your questions and concerns.
Since Track Inc. was acquired in 1990 and relocated to San Antonio it has been assumed that it was owned by Columbia Industries, Inc. Nevertheless, Track Inc. was a separate entity.
The sales function of Track Inc., has been assumed by a new subsidiary of Columbia Industries, Inc., called Track International Inc. Track International, Inc. received no assets from Track, Inc., but will provide customers with the innovative, high quality bowling products as Track, Inc. had done in the past. This reorganization will afford both Columbia Industries and Track International, Inc. with many new opportunities and synergies going forward. Many of these will center on the customer service areas of the business including invoicing, order entry, shipping, receivables, programs and etc. The current goal is to eliminate some of the duplication of effort for both companies, as well as our distributors throughout the world.
To insure a smooth transition, all of the former Track, Inc. employees have been hired by Track International, Inc.
I hope this answers any questions you may have and I want to thank you for your continued support of Track International, Inc.
Sincerely,
Del Warren
President
Track International, Inc.

Well I did read. In the first post it was two companies and his second post it sounded like it was only going to be one company. So that is why I asked the question....I hope you can understand

I don't think Track is in any trouble. Their equipment is popular so sales should be good. Reorganizations are difficult to explain to customers in most industries. We (the customers) are only interested in products and services. Hopefully this reorg will run smoothly and not affect customers in any bad way.

Anyone who says that Track is terrible knows nothing about bowling. I really don't think there is a bad ball company out there today. A bowling ball that does not match up to a condition or a players style does not make the company bad.
If you need a ball for really dry conditions you probably don't want to throw any of the Track equipment since they do not make a urethane ball. If you are on anything from flat oil to light oil I will take my chances with my Track arsenal. I've bowled many long format tournaments and I have never been shut out due to equipment. Track is a great company and as long as Del Warren is at the wheel I'm on board.
