This is the best bang for your buck when it comes to asymmetric and over all hook potential. This ball is one of the most hard hitting balls I've ever thrown. When this ball hits the pins it grabs everyones attention. The Track Kinetic glides thru the front end and responds very well down lane. It gives you a sharper entry angle to the pocket with control. Due to the modified Kinetic asymmetric core. As the Track Mako starts to eat up the oil. The Track Kinetic takes over and delivers a great 1-2 punch and devour your competion. Both the Mako and Kinetic will perform well together on your typical house shot and also the Open Championships.

My $.02 worth.
This ball has a quicker responding cover IMO
on a defined wet/dry shot, it reacts quickly when it sees friction
I have plenty of hand and this wasn't good for me
It stood up fast and early, wouldn't go through the pins properly
Adding surface, moving into a more blended area of the pattern, now I had something.
Now the motion downlane was much better
I may re work the cover and put 500 + polish and see if that changes anything

I feel like there is definitely a spot for this in my bag, but most likely on more blended patterns -- for ME that is

Go one step further,  for many that applies to bowling balls with no int diff prior to drilling. Undrilled is what the industry goes off of….. And Motiv knows that all to well now. My Columbia Throwdown has an int diff of .004 that isn't marked and it wasn't an issue.

I am however excited about this ball just on color and price point. Similar bowling balls like the Rebel,  GB2, Sideswipe etc (from any manufacture) are some of the best bang for buck bowling balls. Much more user and condition friendly.

I was under the impression (feel free to correct me if I'm wrong) that the MB marking for the Kinetics, 503s, 505s, (and other assyms rated .010 and below) was not a "true" MB marking but simply a spot 6.75" from the pin thru the CG.

I don't know. I guess a Track technical support person should have the answer.

But even if the asymmetry is slight, less than the magic Pinel number of .008", once drilled, wouldn't even these balls have an enhanced degree of asymmetry?

This is probably the most exciting release for me personally.  I still have (and use) the original Kinetic and I was drooling when I heard about this ball.

   The Kinetic core (and modified versions) have been my favorite cores since the first started using them.

   Now they have given this proven core a little tweak and wrapped it in a spectacular coverstock, that is truely eye candy, and oh boy!

   I stayed true to my favorite layout and put the pin straight up between the fingers, a little bump towards  my PAP with the mass bias, and an extra hole for static balance.

   This ball is my new favorite. Great length with minimal effort and a strong angular backend. It is strong enough to use on fresh oil, and versatile enough to work through the transition.

  The shape of this ball is wicked.  On the backend, it just doesn't quit. A couple of solid 9 pins stared me in the face, soon to be tomahawked out by savage messengers.

   This ball brings a smile to my face, and strikes on the board.

Keep us posted about any surface adjustments you do with this. I have a feeling I won't be seeing too many in my area and would really like to know what the Emerald looks like with surface (anywhere from 1000-2500) if you ever try it for an extended period of time. This is something I have my eye on to get down the road.

So, with some games on it and today,a surface adjustment before a local tournament
took it to 500 - added powerhouse clean n sheen polish, which is a matte gritty polish
roughly 1500 Matte finish when done.
Ball now had the same hard cornering, but rolled somewhat earlier and had a bit more controlled arc off the friction.
Was on a bit more volume, but threw 10-7 on the fresh and it was really good
Also had good recovery and energy at the pins when I missed out a couple of times
I will not hesitate to put this in my bag when I need something that corners hard

That's what I was getting at. The pin cg mb was always inline too..Which I have never seen with an assymtrical ball.  Usually the cg gets kicked one way or another during their curing process

I'd have to disagree with you guys.  I had a 607A that was a weak asymmetrical ball, that did not need to have the MB marked, that had a kicked out CG from the pin and MB.  It was clear that the MB marking was not a spot 6.75" from pin through CG.

But whatever, unless you put a ball on a DeTerminator (http://www.jayhawkbowling.com/Products/DeTerminator.html) you can only rely on the manufacturer that the markings are accurate/correct.  Hint, sometimes they are not...

Liz Kuhlkin had another monster series tonight with 879... and the front 33. Left a 2-pin on the first ball of the 10th frame in the third game. She was using the Kinetic Emerald.

I'm sure this is a great ball, but it looks like it may be very close to the Mx05 which has been discontinued.  Both have the modified Kinetic core, 2.48 rg, .041 diff. and finished at 500/1000 with factory polish.  The main difference is the Kinetic has a hybrid cover stock and the Mx05 has a pearl.  Will the difference in cover stock make a huge difference between these balls?

The difference is really in the color of the coverstock
They don't have a "pearl" or solid or hybrid coverstock per say
It's really the chemistry of the pigments/colors
That being said, the reds are a slower responding cover vs the green/black on the new Kinetic
The numbers aren't as defined as they used to be, they don't mean as much as they used to
They still give you an idea of the general ball
The Kinetic is probably the hardest Cornering piece in the EBI lineup. But it's generally a weaker piece.  To answer your question, I feel like the Kinetic is different enough as to where you could have both pieces in your bag
