Does this mean that my Coral Triton is now an antique?  If so, its up for sale.. first person to paypal me $400 owns it... I'll even throw in shipping, fee of charge.  LOL

Definitely an interesting turn of events.  I always though competition was good for creativity and production.  I sure hope brunswick and storm don't decided to "merge"

Dude, I hope you have a good source on all the posts you have been making. Starting rumors is not nice. If you are wrong, you will look like a fool. Time will tell.

O.K., so if the phoenix is going to be made,  when and by whom?

I know the first runs are done, but is the columbia plant going to continue production of them, or are all production facilities going to close and move to Kentucky?  And will all production stop until the move is done, or what?

This is horrible.  I personally hate Ebonite.  There coverstocks do last for crap.  I hate to say this but this very well may mean that I will never buy another Columbia or Track ball again.  Which suck cause I am not really crazy about Brunswick or Storm either.  I can't believe this happened.

I just read in one of the other forums that all the Track, Columbia, and Dynothane sales reps were let go also. Anyone know if this is true?

I was just told EVERYONE IS GONE AS OF APRIL 8th, and ALL STYAFF CONTRACTS ARE NULL AND VOID, as well as SALES REPS and TOUR REPS. Karma is funny!

Like I said in previous forum, I will not be sad either if they let Phil go. However, I hope they realize what an asset they have aquired in Billy Yinger!

Charles,

From what I was just told in an email from a reliable source, EVERYONE, "even down to the people that clean the restrooms" were let go.

Also, Billy Yinger left the tour 2 weeks ago!!!!

well i don't know what is going to come of this. it's a sad day!!!!

but look on the bright side.  hammer was not doing well when ebonite bought them in 2002.  and look at the job ebonite did turning them around.
in our shop 3 out of the 6 best selling models are hammer.

and to me, columbia today/yesterday was doing better then hammer 5 years ago.
so with ebonite taking them over, and based on the outstanding job they did with hammer>>>>  there should be hope that the columbia brand name will survive.

it is funny that Track & Columbia have no announcement on their websites about this big deal.

V Spec why is it any of their obligation to post something on their website, Ebonite was the one purchasing them, therefore ebonite made the statement.

Also about Phil taking over Track and Dyno-Thane as independent companies, good luck with that.

Talked with a few guys at the tournaments here in vegas. I was told that again as someone has already posted they let go of EVERYONE!!! I believe they are employed till around April 7th and than after that good bye... Alot of them found out from different sources other than columbia/track!

Why so hard on Phil?

You never know, Ron Hickland and Phil designing for the same company? That would be awesome.

When everything is done, Phil will let us know what the heck is going on, with Track and DynoThane. I see it as a very good thing as long as they let Phil do his thing. The website needs work and updated, maybe we'll finally have the company store we've been asking for with shirts, hats, etc. More info on the equipment and so on. But, we're just going to have to wait it out and see what happens.
