Title: Track Power Wash - Use it before or after CnD? Suggestions?
Post by: Ramtart on August 28, 2006, 04:26:55 AM
Hey BR & Track Legion,

I was wondering if any of you use the new Track Clean N' Tacky. I was speaking with Koji (kgee15) and he mentioned that Prez Rick uses it before Clean N' Dull at times. Rick, can you shed some light on this?

Now that I have a spinner, I've been using Clean N' Dull and water to clean my equipment. Would it be a good idea to use Clean N' Dull before or after Clean N' Dull? Reason being is that I would like to minimize spreading the dirt, oil & grime around even with a fresh towel/paper towel (I know, you can only minimize it so much.)

Thanks for your input!
Rammy

Hey Ram,

I was talking about Power Wash; not Clean n' Tacky!

I've been using Power Wash before CnD and it's a good way of removing excess dirt before the next step in the cleaning process.  Rick (Tenpinspro) recommended it to me as for him, CnD by itself seemed to spread excess dirt; Power Wash removes it.

OOOPS! Thanks KoKo B-Ware for pointing that out. Ok, with that in mind. I am thinking of picking up a bottle of Power Wash.

Question #2 - What job does Clean N' Tacky take on?

Thanks!

Ram, I thought Clean N Tacky and Clean N Dull were the same.

Just a name change as some people were getting confused to the clean n dull name(thinking it would dull a ball, and it DOES NOT), so they came out with Clean N Tacky.

Power  Wash in between the Clean N Tacky. You dont really need to use Clean N Tacky every time you clean.

They are supposed to be with only the smell being the difference.

Paul, thanks for the correction! Ok, Rick & everyone else, sorry for the confusion hehe.

I guess my question is...is Power Wash essential for cleaning or could we live our normal lives just using Clean N' Dull? If Power Wash is pretty good at getting the really grimey and stubborn stuff out, then I wouldn't mind giving it a shot!

Thanks!

You can use Clean N Tacky all the time if you want. I just use about every other time I clean the balls, and the rest I use Power Wash.

The reason is I dont have to use the damp towel with the Power Wash.

You do not need to use Power Wash after using Clean N Tacky.

Yes....LOL  Sorry Ram, had to do it.

I personally like using Power Wash first to remove all or a majority of the dirt and oil before applying Clean and Dull or Clean and Tacky.  This way I feel I get a better effect of the Dull or Tacky on the surface of the ball.

I would say not to use a spinner because you could end up burning the cleaner into the coverstock of the ball.

I have a question here, you say don't use a spinner with the cleaner? Does this mean don't use C&D or Clean&Tacky or what ever they want to call it today with a spinner?

I use my spinner every time I clean my stuff. I don't put any pressure on the ball and with C&D I feel that I have clean balls.

I have a question too...sorry Ramtart for intruding into your thread.
Is it ok to use Clean and Dull after every bowling session ? If so, when then do we use Power Wash ? Thanks...

And Ramtart have you try using clean and dull to clean your Big One ? I tried but it seems that the gel is being absorbed into the coverstock. Is this a good sign ? Do you encounter this ?
I have tried it on the Radical but for this ball the gel seems to just stay on the surface of the ball. Curious...

Hey ship, I can also but that may be the fact that I'm 130lbs soaking wet so my pressure isn't as strong as the rest of the guys in the shop. They can make stuff shine with almost anything but it'll take me more pressure to do that.

This is most likely due the polished cover of the Rad.  If a ball is shiny or already covered to some degree with polish, the pores will take longer to absorb and it will take a little more time to apply "any" cleaner/tackifier to its surface.  Hope this helps explain some...

One more note, my reasoning to applying Power Wash before Dull or Tacky is help remove dirt.  Just the same thought process as washing our car before we wax it...however, we do have products now I guess that do it all in one also.
