I drilled a 3rd Mean tonite...and WOW...what a surprise!

First one is drilled pin tucked under fingers on centerline, 5 1/2 from PAP, cg kicked toward PAP, mass bias about 1 1/2 inches from VAL, extra hole on VAL. Factory surface.

Second one is drilled pin just to the right of my ring (about 5 inches from PAP) cg in my palm, mass bias left of thumb in track...no extra hole, factory surface.

NEW ONE drilled pin above fingers, about 5 5/8 from PAP, cg in palm, thumb hole drilled through the mass bias marking. Factory surface.

3 different lines could be played with these 3 balls...and while Mean #3 was the longest, it was still STRONG....unreal strong in fact...has the most move at the break...Mean #2 was about 2 boards stronger and Mean #1 was about 3 boards stronger than Mean #2 and 5 stronger than Mean #3.

I played on my Classic Scratch League pattern...played as strong/stronger than anything I have OTHER than my GP2....of course..dry backends help AND thick oil will make the particle stuff (Inertia, Phenom, etc) stick out more....

That's a good question there. I seems like it provides some extra length will a smoothed out backend reaction to me? How about it Clint? What's it like?

I guess I have not "heard" that drilling through the mass bias takes away a backend move.....and this one by far had the most backend move out of the 3....BY FAR! Of course, it could be just the fact this one is weaker and saves more energy for the back part of the pattern OR the backends were very clean....I would have to test more to give an honest answer to that question.

Well...I drilled about a dozen Animals, then it was 20+ GP2s or so..(still have a brand new one drilled and a NIB one) and its been about 16 or more Robos...I drilled my share of Deltas...but it did not get to double digits...it was only about 6...maybe 8...somewhere in there.

now i see why you have to order 100 balls at a time, you drill 40 of them for yourself. So much for profit margins.

Hey Steve...(and anyone else)

Drilled 3 more Means last nite!

In addition to my other 3, here is how these were drilled:

1. First one is pin on centerline tucked below fingers (5 1/2 from PAP) cg kicked out toward PAP, mass bias 2 inches from VAL...and I put a coat of Delayed Reaction on it. I already have a Mean drilled like this, and its pretty strong, and I like that reaction, so I decided to see what that drill would do with some polish on it!

2. Next one is the drill that Beans gave to FastTracker33 for his Inertia. Put the cg on my PAP, started with a 3.5-4 inch pin, 2 1/2 top-pin, cg, and mass bias all are in a straight line (when you have 33 15# Mean Machines in stock, you have lots of chances to get what you want), mass bias ended up 1 1/2 inches past my VAL..pin ended up next to ring and a tisker up, about 4 3/4 from PAP, obviously an extra hole will be needed to get out the side weight....I am VERY interested to see what this ball does.

3. Drilled the last one up pin 1 inch from PAP and about 2 1/2 inches up from the midline (about even with my fingers if you draw a line fromt he fingers to the pin) cg about 3 inches from PAP, and the mass bias 5 1/2 inches from VAL ending under my thumb (did not drill through the mass bias like the other one, this one ended up about an inch below my thumb). The Robo I had drilled like this was an awesome reaction on the right condition...very condition specific...lets see how that works on the Mean...I want to see if its the drill or if its due to the Robo having particle in the cover....

I am also drilling 4 more Inertias as well, identical to the drills above plus the Mean I drilled up the other nite...so I will have 6 Means and 6 Inertias..and they will have identical drill patterns.....

With my scratch league tonite, I very rarely test out a new ball with the $$ floating around out there...and I am swamped for this weekend...probably won't be until next week, or maybe after league tonite if there is time...

My other shipment of Inertias is scheduled to arrive today!!!!! Lets hope we get your specs this time...we have 9 chances!
