Need Rule drilling advice
« on: February 16, 2005, 10:14:21 AM »
I just bought a Track Rule and need some drilling advise, I have a Brunswick Ultimate Inferno drilled stacked leverage with weight hole. If I drill the rule the same how would they be different?

And has anyone ever drilled one up with the pin above or below the bridge and how did it work?

Just looking for advise/help on what works for you.

I would lane to play the whole lane with this ball.

THANKS!

If you drill them the same, the main noticeable differences between them are:
-Rule will have more length whereas the UI will be revving up early
-Rule will have a more angular backend whereas the UI will be more of a smooth but strong arc
-Rule will have more backend whereas the UI will be more of a smooth hook throughout the entire lane
-Rule will handle less oil whereas the UI will handle more oil

I think they would compliment each other quite well!

I would agree with ice, provided both surfaces were out of box. I never had an UI for myself, and only drilled one for a customer, but that ball does tend to rev very early. When the heads start to go, sa does the UI. The Rule will be much more playable overall for you. Although dry heads are NOT the Rule's forte, the reaction will gradually go away, not all of a sudden like with the UI from what I have seen.

Clint, what about the Rule vs the Xception in this same case?

Hey onformula,

If you want to open up the shot more which the Rule can do, I'd keep a length and strong backend drill on it.  Stack lev will make it roll early and more even.  Dependent upon your speed/style, a pin up with mb strong should do the trick.  When this ball sniffs dry, it will move very hard so you can get in and swing it more in comparison to the UI.  Hope this helps...
