Track heat blast & Original inferno.
« on: February 27, 2007, 07:37:44 PM »
I was just wondering if anyone knows how the original inferno and the track heat blast compare? I have a heat blast and have the option to get a brand new inferno, but I don't want to get it just because I can. I'm looking for a little more hook than my heat blast if that helps. Thanks a lot. Jesus

Hey Drunken,

The Inferno I'd say is about 3-5 boards stronger in comparison (depending upon your style) to the Heat Blast.  Nice smooth controlled reaction from both...you can get the Inferno remake on-line I think.  Hope this helps some....

As Rick stated the Inferno is stronger then the heat blast. For me personally the heat blast was more evened rolling compared to the inferno which goes a little longer and before making its move. Inferno reads the lanes really well.  I'm not a Brunswick man by any means but the Inferno is probably one of my more favorite balls in my bag.

Thanks a lot guys.  My work has the inferno in a storage closet and my boss will give it to me for $50.  I guess I'll have to pick it up.  Oh wait, one more question.  I had the smoking inferno and hated it.  Couldn't get the ball to do anything.  Plugged and redrilled it three different times.  Anyways, how does the original compare to the smoking?  I don't want this ball to be like the smoking.  Thanks again.

compared to the smoking the original is supposed to be stronger rolling where the smoking was supposed to have more backend

Hey Drunken,

The Original Inferno is a much better performing ball compared to the Smokin.  The Smokins I drilled out my way had the great length that it promoted but lacked in backend reaction that it was supposed to have.  Mainly crankers (or rev dominant players) liked it because it didn't have the finish it was advertised to.  The Radical however has fit that bill....

Again Agreed Smokin was not nearly as agressive as the Original Inferno.  If you can get one NIB for 50 bucks then you my friend are getting a heck of a deal. If you want more in detail the difference between the two PM The Big G 2006. He is a buddy of mine and has boh of them, I'm sure he will be glad to tell you more about the 2 balls.

Inferno revs a lot earlier although still pushes very well. 4-6 boards was about my assessment(oi stronger) with 2-3 up front and 2-3 in the back. Blast played better on slightly drier or when needing less angle to carry. I sold the blast and now have 2 OI's set up to compliment each other. Blast looked better for a few local players when stepping up to more aggresive drill patterns.
