Animal Untamed

I dont see much posts about this ball. Does the core and coverstock not
matchup well? I've read a few reviews and feedback wasn't as good
as original animal.

Wondering what reaction you guys get?

Thanks.

Ball is GREAT on mediums and lighter medium if you polish it up. I have never had a problem with this ball on any fresh shot. With that said, I have not had good luck with it on carrydown. Ball just seems too skid to much for me. Plus, there are other balls in Track's line that match up better on carrydown anyhow, like the Animal.  The new Rule GP2 looks like a winner, as I am more than ready to try mine out when I get them. The GP2 is being touted as the biggest hooking ball ever made by Track, plus it sounds like it will be able to handle carrydown. Have to wait and see.

I love mine, but rarely throw it due to lane conditions. They are putting down a significant less amount of oil this year. If you are interested in one, I will let mine go cheap, REAL CHEAP!! Message me if interested.

Its a very good ball when you get it to match the conditions.  Out of box for me, it didn't do much on our THS (medium oil)...slid through the break point most of the time.  So, I took the cover down with blue scotch brite pad and it became a monster on our THS until they lightened up the oil pattern about a month ago...now lots of rollout and "marshmellow" hits.  I think if I shined it up a bit, it would be a monster again...at least until they start putting down more oil...

Hey btx,

I also had pretty good success with mine (4.75x2.75 mb, pin 4.5 above mid).  I drilled mine with a real short mb distance to see get the max rev reaction and that's exactly what it does.  It revs up quick and gives me a very controlled even reaction.  I was originally afraid that the resin might be a little squirty for me but I definitely do not see this drilled with this pattern.  You may not see a lot of write up currently because the ball is about 7 months old now.  Check out the reviews...

Oh Lanebed...Lanebed, can you please help share your thoughts on the Untamed for btx?  Thank you sir...

The Untamed is a great ball. More than anything what probably hurt it was the release date. Being released so close to the end of the league season there was not much of a market for that ball at that time. The cover/core combo is perfect, early roll with a strong continuous backend.

Thanks all for the input. I just got a used one here and wanted to get an idea first as to what expect from it. I loved reactives as they help me get through
the heads cleaner.

I am actually thinking of having it polished after but I will probably try it first before doing so.
