X-Treme Heat
« on: November 08, 2016, 09:27:04 AM »
I haven't seen much feedback on the Xtreme Heat, seems everybody loved the HEAT.
Any thoughts/opinions, good roller, hook, under/over.  All input is appreciated.

Very grabby, early OOB. I don't see staffers throw it a lot except for in this tournament series that I bowl monthly that puts out PBA & Challenge patterns that all play on the heavy side. Polished, it's a middle of the road smooth ball that is a little rounder than a Gamebreaker 2, reaction wise.

I would agree the XTreme heat really starts up early. I have mine drilled pin down which helps ball roll a bit earlier then pin up. I tried it OOB and it just wasn't finishing like I had hoped. I polished it up and now it is a great med. lane condition ball. As long as the back ends are moving ball carries well. Great compliment to my Scandal.

One of our bowlers loves his. Drilled the Heat Extreme and Cyborg at the same time. Heat Extreme is on the Rico layout and is his go to heavy oil ball. The Cyborg is a step down for him in reaction and playable on more conditions. Both are at box finish.

Thank you for you responses........I don't like the reaction I get, ball hits soft possibly rolling out from early roll described in previous responses.  I was expecting a more agressive ball when I purchased the X-Heat.

What is the suggested polish levels.  Just drilled up a Scandal Pearl and Xtreme Heat may still have a place in my bag as a ball down option.

I am saving up for the Scandal Pearl.  Looks like a great ball. I took surface up to 4000 and added the polish. Should be a nice step down from the Scandal pearl with some polish on it. Let me know how you like the Scandal pearl and how it compares to your X treme heat.

I personally love the X-Treme Heat, but it is definitely stronger than advertised with the 2000 Abralon finish. You need head oil for this ball and offers a strong, continuous motion in the backends that does not stop. The original Heat is very clean and offers a BIG backend motion that most bowlers like to see.... but with the X-Treme Heat, the coverstock is stronger which allows you to use it on heavier medium lane patterns, and does not hook too early on the longer/heavier patterns that the stronger (Asym) balls do.

This ball is perfect for the heavier medium or longer lane patterns where you need control in the backends. I do know that when polished this ball does roll great too with the continuation in the backends, but there are other balls out there that do that.

This ball matches up better for those that have higher ball speeds or more rev rate.
Hope this info helps...

I built my own spinner and mess around quite a bit with surfaces, polishes, etc
I find that 500 or 1000, as high as 2000 is all I will put under polish
This gives it some teeth and still good easy length through the heads
Seems to blend the over/under I get sometimes if I had used say 4000 + polish.

Got a staffer buddy who got me onto this, Working well for me
