FAZ vs Slash
« on: February 02, 2006, 11:10:46 AM »
Finishing off building my arsenal and was wondering if you guys think these two are different enough from each other to be used in a 4 ball arsenal. I was thinking of having the Slash drilled more for a medium-heavy and the FAZ for medium shot. Does this sound right or would you flip them and have the Slash for medium and the FAZ for medium-heavy. Thanks

Jason

Jason,

Definately the Slash for med heavy and FAZ for medium. I have to say that with both of those you will have the middle of your arsenal looking pretty good!

I agree. The FAZ should easily fill the gap for medium oil, while the slash left at box condition should be well on Med-heavy type conditions. Let us know!!

Agree with The Bartender on this one..

If you are going for a 4 ball arsenal....

Would think need...

Heavy
Medium
Light
Spare

This would mean you would have to choose between the FAZ and the Slash..if looking for a true medium I would suggest the FAZ.

I never really bowl on a true heavy shot, thats why I was looking at just a medium-heavy ball. I have an Arsenal Aggressive right now and am very rarely able to use it because conditions were I bowl never call for something that aggressive. With looking at the numbers I figured the Slash might be a little weaker than the Arsenal which would give me more chances to roll it. If I do think I may bowl somewhere there will be truely heavy oil I have an Animal sitting here new in box that I can punch up. I do plan on having more than 4 balls, I just want a main 4 ball arsenal for when I'm bowling in the tournaments around my area, and then have a few extra balls if I go outside of my area to bowl. Thanks for the help and suggestions.

Jason,

You may want to punch the Animal up as well. Even if they are in your area often times centers change the lane patterns for tournaments. The Arsenal Reactive covers some boards, but I believe for a heavier tournament shot that you could use something that starts up sooner on the heavier stuff.

As for the Freakazoid and Slash........If you do take your arsenal to 5 balls you could easily fit them in there (in my opinion). The Freakazoid with a longer layout (pin from PAP) can become pretty flippy. The Slash, if you leave it in its OOB finish can definately cover med/heavy very well. I put a coat of Clean n Sheen on mine and was more of a benchmark ball.
