I have put about 10 games on the ball so far. Those of you that have read my ball reviews in the past know that I prefer to put a good number of games on a ball before posting an actual review.
I have only used this ball on the 43 ft Kegel Sport Pattern.
Layout Choice: 4 1/4 pin from PAP below ring finger (I will start posting layouts with dual angle so it will be easier for people to figure it out). X hole placed 4 inches right of center line pitched 1 inch right with ending statics at 1/2 oz positive side and 1/4 oz finger weight.
I left the ball with the OOB finish for initial testing.
I did not approach the pattern with a definate line to attack. I wanted to see how versatile the 505c is. The initial line I played was standing 11 board and playing straight up the 4-5 boards (no tragectory to the right). I was suprised how the ball recovered when it hit the backend of the lane. The oil volume out where I was playing was fairly heavy and the 505c didn't make a move until it countered friction. As previously stated, I couldn't get the ball going away from the pocket...if I did it stood no chance of making the turn.
The next line I played was deep inside standing around 40 and targeting 12 board as my breakpoint. The 505c recovered nicely (normally 4 1/4in pin from PAP tends to not have kick in the back part of the lane) enough to get the corners out.
As the lane began to transition the outside line was definately my line of choice. I did however move left with my feet standing around 18 and targeting 5 board down the lane and this line was awesome for the remainder of each session. Playing this line with the 505c gave me more forgiveness than anything else I attempted to use.
SO, in short I see easy length with good recovery. It has movement at the breakpoint, but once you get the feel for the 505c it doesn't do anything that you are not expecting. I think that most will see the "C" part of the 505 through predictable reaction. The 505c is very versatile. Changes in hand position did not bring out a weak point in the ball. Even more impressive is that other than extremely deep inside lines I did not see a decrease in carry percentage(this is due to layout IMO).
I hope this helps, and I will be doing a full review after I get more games on the ball.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.
