Title: Track Threat vs. something in tracks currect line?
Post by: Slopsurprise on October 05, 2005, 12:38:30 PM
I am wondering how a Track Threat would compare to anything in tracks currect line? Is it similar to anything out now? Anyone have any opinions on it?

Hey, it might be slop but, it all looks the same on the scorecard!!!!!

The Threat has the Heat's core with WOW 2 particle pearl cover. The Heat in the current line is a dupe of the original Heat, so the Threat and the new Heat share the same core. As for cover, we have 2 balls currently with particle pearls, the Xception 5.0 and Arsenal Angular.

Sloppy

The Threat for me at the time was close to the Crunch Time.  Even though it was particle pearl, the particle load was so low that the ball reacted like a resin piece.  It was pretty angular in the back but not as strong as the Crunch Time.  The particle allowed it to start up a hair earlier and be a little smoother.   I would say the Heat and Solution EX are probably the closest.

BTW, the Threat and the Crunch Time were two of my favorite balls.

Hey Slops,

In overall reaction, I'd have to go with (tag team partner #2) achappy's suggestion on the Solution Power Plus EX.  I finally got a chance to drill to and use this ball and it is very nice on the drier conditions.  My polished Threat went quite a ways down the lane and then turned over like achappy stated.

I had a threat and threw it for a couple
of yrs and then i got stupid and wanted
newer equipment. The threat worked great
for me and in its place i got an Arsenal
Angular. I must say that this ball reacts
very similar to the threat. Goes down the
Lane a little farther and has more entry
angle. So i say the Angular. Just my opinion.

Slop,

For me the Threat went a long way down the lane before making its move. Out of the current lineup the Heat is the closest as far as reaction......even though the Heat is reactive. As chappy mentioned, the Threat was particle pearl but the particle load was so low that it really didn't react like a particle.

Goodluck!
