TRACK=COLUMBIA=AMF
« on: January 18, 2007, 05:06:44 AM »
I just recently started using Track and the balls are the Equation and the Arsenal Artillery and I like both of them. I have also thrown AMF and Columbia. I really wanted to know are these 3 ball companies interchangeable? I have heard all of the companies are pretty much the same, but I just wanted to get a clearer understanding. If anyone can enlighten me on the sitution that would be great.

I would say no because you're dealing with different cores and cover formulas. Columbia 300 is mostly an umbrella, but they can share R&D. Some of their mid-level AMF balls did use Super-flex and titanium inserts. Overall, they're separate limbs of the same tree.

lion,

you forgot about Dyno-Thane, since Phil now also runs AMF, DT and Track.

so dt=track-amf-=columbia=storm=roto-grip=circle athletics=Morich=brunswick=visionary,etc., etc., etc.

Unless balls have the same coverstock, same coverstock finish  AND the EXACT same core, the balls are not the same. Heck, even with minor core tweaking, the balls may not even be close.

I don't know any Columbia,, DT or Track ball that acts anyhting like the Radar.  I could give lots more examples. So could you.
