« on: January 15, 2007, 08:21:18 AM »
Dont know alot about this ball but i was thinking about picking one up for my son who is a high school bowler.I was just wondering if anyone can tell me the difference between this ball and say a Storm Agent as far as which ball would be stronger in the backend

The Power Machine is asymmetrical so it has the potential to be either stronger or smoother depending on the drilling.
Mine is drilled 4.5 x 4.5 (pin x MB) pin up 3 5/8" with a small balance hole placed 6 3/4" from the pin on my VAL. With this drilling it is very angular and strong in the backend when the condition is right. I would say it is the most angular and strongest backend ball I have ever had.
I am a mildly rev dominate player.

The ball is VERY strong and angular.  If you've ever thrown a mean machine, then make it a foot longer  with a more explosive break and you've got a power machine.  I've had the Agent before and its a lot more controllable than the Power Machine.  The Power Machine can be a victim of over/under at times and you really have to be spot on with your shooting.  If you are consistently hitting the target, then the Power Machine is a GREAT ball, it just seems to carry the world.

On the other hand, when I started out with my Agent, it was great at reading the lanes and a lot more forgivable if you tend to spray the ball like i do =)  They're both good balls IMO.  The Power Machine with give you good length with a hard snap at the end, the Agent will give you a little earlier read with a more rounded breakpoint.

I have not seen an Agent turn the corner as hard as the Power Machine. IMO the Power Machine is the best ball on the market today. It is useful on most conditions other than a flood and a desert.

Well i solved this problem by buying them both lol. These are no doubt 2 different balls. The reaction is completely different. He seems to be able to control the agent a little better although i dont think it hits as hard as the power machine. One thing i noticed about the power machine is as soon as it hits dry it starts turning. And i mean hard.If the alley is burned up he had no chance of controlling this ball but on a fresh shot man does it hit hard
