Help A New Track Bowler . . . .
« on: April 25, 2006, 09:25:37 AM »
I am looking for a little guidance from the Track experts here. Since I started playing regularly again, I am finding myself throwing my Track Heat (drilled pin under for dry lanes) and my Track Rule (pin above, dull finish) but I am noticing that I have a gap. When I start, the Rule is fine, but as that starts to roll out and the oil goes, there is still enough there to make the Heat go a little too squirty. I think I need a pearl ball with a little more go than the Heat. So, my first question is, what Track ball will fit that gap, and my next question is, are there any good pro shops in Las Vegas that I would be able to get a good price from, and also on a pair of size 15 SSTs? I have friends going over to the states and they have said they could bring something back for me, so am looking at a ball and shoes if possible. Any help would be greatly appreciated guys

I have a track x-ception 5.0 that would be a good fit inbetween those the rule and the heat.  Its NEW in the box with pin and top around 3. I also have a blue heat that I would sell.let me know if you are interested in either or both.

You have a lot of room for a few balls in Tracks current line up. The two that come to mind for me are the Heat Blast (a versatile bench mark ball) and the Machine (a strong polished particle ball that may allow you to play a similar line as the Rule).

You will receive a lot of feedback from the rest of the Revolution shortly.

Hey Check,

I would recommend the Machine. This has become one of my favorites along with the Robo Rule and Arsenal Artillery. The current line has all sorts of stuff to offer to match up to your style. The Machine just seems like a wonderful step down. However, I have been able to use the Machine on slick conditions more than the Rule and the Machine is a particle pearl! You may also want to consider an Artillery or if you can find one, an Arsenal Reactive with a weaker layout or a strong type layout with some polish...hope this helps buddy! God Bless You and have a great week!

arsenal artillary. Stronger than the heat, polished so it wont be more than your rule. get a 3 in. pin, put the pin over your bridge, and stack the cg. Will close the gap you have. That's just what i think off the top of my head. Would help you more if you would post your specs (your ball speed, rev rate, etc) if you want somthing a little smoother on the back, like dw said, a heat blast would also fit well.

I like many of ther suggestions here....5.0, Machine, Artillery, Blast...really any of those will get through the heads better than the original Rule and also be more than your Heat. However, the Artillery may be your best choice....the 5.0 and Machine will still be very strong, and the Blast will be closer to the Heat....I think the Artillery gives you more separation between your 2 current balls than the other 3.

I'm going to go with the Heat Blast for my first choice.  Heat Blast is a great compliment to the Heat (Basically same core with a flip block).  I have both of them and they work extremely well together. Second choice would be the Artillery.  I haven't thrown one but I have been pretty impressed with what I have seen an read about it thus far.

The question isn't why do I throw all Track, it's why don't you.

Arsenal includes:
Rule GP2, Rule Delta 1, Slash, Xception, Heat Blast, Heat,  Desert Heat

Hey Reality,

I personally recommend the Arsenal Artillery also.  It fits in between the Rule and Heat very nicely.  Hope this helps some...
