the second ball was NOT cracked. it has a scratch that looks like a crack. my original 916 did have a small crack around the pin area. i am assuming that this was just a fluke. TRACK makes awesome equipment, i stand behind it 100% and the 916AT so far is the best track ball i have owned.

Good to hear. I've had scratches or phazing lookk like cracking as well. Glad you don't have to get another.
