Author Topic: Uprising drilling for high tracks? (Read 2148 times)

I am in the market for a Uprising. but until I get one i am still trying to decide how I want to drill it. i have been wanting to try out the number one drilling but since I track pretty high, PAP 5 5/8 over 3/4up, I don't know if that drilling will work or how would it need to be mordified to make it work?

I have also been considering Pin in ring with MB close to VAL say 4 to 3 inches from PAP, the pin in the ring would be around 4 3/4 to 5 inches from my PAP.

Anyone else track high and own this ball or have drilled some up for high trackers, comments would be appreciated. I have good ball speed 16-18, a good amount of revs, would be considered a power tweener. Thanks

I am a high tracker with the pin over ring which is 4 3/8 to pap and MB at 80 degrees at 4 1/2 towards the thumb. Picks up huge in the mids and arcs through the entire pin deck, rolls heavy at first and then starts it move pretty hard.

Smooth power good medium heavyish ball not for floods oob but still pretty strong overall.

NDPIT, thanks for the info, but as I was saying that pin being under my fingers makes me worry I will clip my finger holes.

I have one with the pin 3" from PAP and MB 2" from PAP. This thing has more backend than any ball I have ever had. I can't use it on most house conditions due to the backend strength.

Thinking about taking the cover down to 1000 and polish over it to get an earlier smoother reaction without loosing the pop at the pins.

Lane,

You wont clip the fingers, with a layout close to the number 1 suggested layout. We have put that layout on a few for people who were inverted, and they dont clip. The track flare location changed it was further from the fingers then normal. Now because of your PAP being so far over, I would say just stay with the same 1 inch up from grip center but more the pin no more then 1 inch from your center line in the direction of your val. Now you could leave it alone with the normal 1 inch up but like I said because you said you were 5 5/8 right. I would move it 1" right and this should help get you the normal reaction from the normal number 1 layout. Only this movement is done because of your PAP pushing the limit of the 95% of the world.

Thanks scoot, that is what I was wanting to hear. The drilling just made me a little uneasy because I have two balls drilled pin under and it was a black widow and absolute power. I didn't clip the black widow, but clipped the absolute power-which had a 1 inch pin I believe.

If it did for some reason clip IU would think a balance hole might cure that

No because I still trust what Ron said about weight holes and the megatron core. You should not clip, because of the fact that any ball with a MB over .010 should/could change your track flair enough for you not to clip. Like I said we used the number 1 suggested layout for inverted people. The one kid is super inverted where his PAP is almost over 2 1/2" down. He dont clip and he has no weight hole. You should be fine, the only this I would do is make that move to the right I suggested.
