What does 'Track' mean to bowlers?
« on: October 08, 2008, 07:27:59 AM »
I am a student at Vanderbilt College conducting a research project on the sport of bowling. I was told this site would be a good place to begin my research. What does the ‘Track’ name mean to bowlers? Could anyone throw out a few adjectives that describe the brand in general? For instance, a friend told me that the Hammer brand was arrogant, aggressive and loud. I am looking for the same type of information as it applies to Track. Any insight would be appreciated!

On the subject of coverstocks. How can you say that Track's covers are new and different from that of Ebonite's,Hammer's, or C300? Their has been much debate in the Hammer Forum that Ebonite is putting the same covers on Hammer's stuff as Ebonite is using on their own stuff. Why is Track is exempt from this rumour?

Just a question for thos who may have an answer no disrespect is intended in anyway.

If you need to question the coverstocks and you seem to be sending just rumors, contact the brand managers and ask them directly to help iron out this debate. Jeff Ussery and Paul Figliomeni are able to clear this up.

Let me start off by saying that I live in San Antonio, so I am very familiar with the Track brand.  When they were making the equipment here, I wasn't too crazy about it.  The only balls that I really liked were the Heat and Elite.  Recently I have been throwing alot of Storm and had great results with them.  I recently signed a contract with Track and have been nothing short of amazed.  My only complaint about Storm was that, from time to time, it would give me a really nasty over/under reaction.  But I always stuck with Storm because of the recovery and backend power of their equipment.  Track is the best of both worlds.  Very strong backend performance, but without the over/under that I ran into with Storm.  So, when I think Track, I think about cutting edge technology and also ease of use.  Making adjustments with this stuff is super super easy.

It used to be a company - but now it has just been reduced to "another brand" with IMHO not a clear positioning. Tough time for them, since the old followership is still out there, expects outrageaous things, but if the brand managers can or are allowed to deliver...?

not in the past couple years but they were leading with new technology when Del was there.. that was back when morich wasn't all that big.. before 03 track was cutting edge core and  cover wise. they wernt just a skid flip company then..lol

POSERS people talk about Track and their technology but their stuff doesn't compare to MoRich or Visionary core designs as far new technology and Radical changes go. And alot of their stuff is skid flippy that just makes it harder control in tournements when the backends are already flying IMO.
