Crunchtime, any snap at all?
« on: August 12, 2004, 10:54:12 AM »
Just received a nice shape Crunchytime!

Went out and threw this slightly scotch brited pearl.

Was shocked at how even this pearl was!   A friend who is a real righty threw it and also thought no snap all smooth arc with a lot of clearance in the heads?

Drilled 5 1/4 X 5.  Anyone think it is snappy.

It surprised me as it has core of the Hex which had a little snap and on a solic.

I have a crunch time drilled 5 1/4 X 3 1/2. with a bit of polish on it and it snaps like no other ball i have. It just shows how versitile the ball really is...

As you've noticed, a little surface on the CT will smoothen it out.  It reacts nicely with 1500 grit wet sand.  Remove the surface and then you should have a much stronger backend.  For me, the transition of the CT is not as drastic as the Crash but it can turn the corner.

I'm not criticising I was just surprised that it was so smooth for a pearl!

Lefty, the smoothness you are seeing is due to surface. Anthony is right, is you put some polish on the ball it will react more abruptly in the backend, but not as angular as the Crash.

If you want it to be snappy put a drilling like Phlap has on it. Polish it up to 1000 or 1200 and go rock some sticks.

Hey LL,

Go with LaneBed's suggestion.  If you fine it a little and then polish it, this should give you some good backend pop.  I lightly polished mine out of box and it was pretty snappy in the back.  Hope this helps bud...
