I wanna threat
« on: March 03, 2004, 10:45:38 AM »
I seen one of these puppies tonight and man what a ball does anyone else think that is a good ball to?  It went really long then turned really hard and just killed the pins.  Does this ball supposed to go that long I thought that since its particle it would hook early but I think this ball is good for 2nd shift which is what I bowl on.  I have a crunch which I think is a pile of crap and almost made me stay away from track but after seeing the threat I think I will may have to try one.  Does anyone else have info on a threat and is it as good of a ball as I think it is so should I get one?

Hi Kincaid,

I have my Threat drilled at 5x3 pin over bridge and it does exactly what you saw.  It goes nice and long in lite oil and turns over well in the backend.  The cover is actually a pretty light load particle so that's why the ball doesn't grab too early.  Instead of a harder resin to play the med-dry conditions, I like my Threat better so I don't see the spotty oil on the lanes as much.  I feel this would be a good choice for your second shift if they get a little on the drier side.  If you turn the ball a fair amount, I'd also recommend a little weaker layout.  Hope this helps...

ps.  What didn't you like about your Crunch?  How is it drilled and what condition are you trying to use it on?

I agree with tenpinspro.  The Threat will read better but still has enough length and backend for 2nd shifts/light oils.

Sorry to hear you didn't like the Crunch.  I love mine (so does my wifey ).   Maybe as suggested that the layout and/or condition just didn't match up???
