« on: August 02, 2006, 07:40:50 PM »
Here you go guys, finally got to get some vids up for your viewing pleasure...

Condition - 32ft buffed to 42 with lite hang outside 5

Mean Machine  4 7/8 x 4 3/8mb pin 1 5/8 above mid line
Review - http://www.ballreviews.com/reviews/reviews.asp?BallID=744&ManufacterID=12

Video - http://media.putfile.com/Mean-Machine (thrown OOB, little oil soaked)

Equation 4 1/4 x 3 pin 3 inches above mid line, 11/16 hole, 2 1/4 deep on pap
Review - http://www.ballreviews.com/reviews/reviews.asp?BallID=743&ManufacterID=12

Video - http://media.putfile.com/Equation-90 (thrown OOB)

Mean Machine was crossing 16-17 at athe arrows getting one out to even 6 board late and able to bend it back.

Equation was much straighter playing 13-8 and back.  Feel free to ask any questions, thanks.

PS. Thanks to nonamekevin again for his excellent camera work.

The Equation appears to be a bit stronger than I expected.

The Mean has some mean continuation (pun intended). I was surprised by the amount of length it has considering the surface prep.

For those of you that would rather DL them here are the file locations.

Thanks to Re-Evolution for putting them in a  format I can down load and see. I for some reason cannot view putfiles as they are on line.

Rick,
Did you do anything to the suface of the MM before the video?

Thanks

Rick! Glad to see you back. Looks like you got your phone line situation resolved. Cool dude! Thanks for the comparison vids man. I have a better look now in what both of these balls can do.

You were right about where you were hitting your marks. After watching the vids a few times, here is what I got (approximate guesses after pausing the vids a few times hehe)...

Mean Machine
Shot #1 17 at arrows & 7-8 at breakpoint
Shot #2 16 at arrows & 6 at breakpoint
Shot #3 16 at arrows & 7 at breakpoint

Equation
Shot #1 13 at arrows & 7 at breakpoint
Shot #2 12 at arrows & 6 at breakpoint
Shot #3 12 at arrows & 5 at breakpoint

Looks like breakpoint stayed about the same. AMF Southshore Lanes can be tricky, especially with the Out of Bounds at 5 board-Gutter. I like how there was at least a 4-5 board separation between both balls. Looks like a nice 1-2 punch. You could've used either ball. Mean Machine had some guts in the midlane and from my experience at Southshore, there seems to be more units of oil in the middle. MM seemed to handlle it nicely!

Rick, did you make any surface adjustments to these? Equation looked polished. Does it come OOB factory polished?

P.S. Nice Cameo Dan LOL! When I saw that Big Head blocking the camera on the first MM shot, I knew it was you! JK bud! Also, Kev, nice work again. Is directing movies in your future calling your name? Hehe

Thanks man!

Hey rick could you help us out on the surface used and the nature of the beast you were bowling on? They lanes looked like they were playing tight through out. Was there alot of buff out on the backends?

I thought as much by watching the ball's transition and how it moved throughout the lane. Pretty impressive given the nature of the pattern. I have seen several patterns like that and pretty much can tell it was similar to what I have exsperienced before. I might be looking at getting the equation. The mean machine would probably be to strong for what I am wanting.

Dan has the pattern nailed. The line Rick was using the Mean Machine with, I was only able to play the same line in that house with my Old Rule Delta 1. I do get the feeling/illusion that there is always carry down with the nature of the buffed out part of the lane.

Sorry guys, I threw both balls out of box.  The Mean is a little oil soaked, haven't cleaned it yet.

Shot: DPat and Ramtart are pretty much on about this.  They just tweaked the oiling machine about 3 weeks ago and now it's gotten much tighter then before in regards to the amount of hang outside and the longer appearance of buff.

It's about a 7 to 7, blended in and down the lane.  Our backends have never been squeaky clean like some houses I've bowled in. In the vids, they were even a little tighter because that was done 10 minutes before closing.  There was league and open play on that all night before I got on there so the backend strength of these balls will be stronger for some of you on a fresher shot.  Hope this helps explain some...

Hey Rick,

I was wondering why the backend reaction looked so smooth in your Mean Machine video when I know that this ball is suppose to hook a ton more. I guess the same with the Equation, I've been hearing mostly alot of break on the backend. Guess I'll find out this next week when I punch mine up! God Bless You Rick and have a great week! Thanks for the vids!
