I am seeking some input from some of the Tracksters on here. I have been going thru a Big B phase the last 2 seasons and have neglected to throw holes in any Track balls for awhile. Was looking for input on a couple of reactions in the Track line that I could phase in for the Big B stuff I really like.
Benchmark reaction-Looking for something to get a good read on the condition.
Skid/Flip-have a feeling from looking at the specs it might be the Arsenal Aggressive, but would like some input.
Also interested in opinions on the Slash, Heat, and Arsenals.
Thanks,
Big Mike

Slash may be the best benchmark ball in the business right now. Great even rolling ball that, if you decide to change its cover, it can handle oilier conditions and polish it up to get it down the lane. However, that is pretty much true across the board for Track's covers right now. As for a skid/flip ball, there is nothing flippier than Xceptions. The original X goes way down the lane and has a flip. The 5.0, being particle and having a quick rev time, will check up earlier than the original X but still has a nice move. The Arsenal Angular makes a nice move on the backend as well. The Aggressive is a dull particle, using the new Peak particle (which is awesome) and is almost as strong as the Rule GP2 in oil, but not quite.
The Heat is the same ball as the original that dominated the PBA in 1997. Great ball, gets down the lane very well in todays conditions and is very playable.
If you haven't seen the other threads, there is 4 new balls coming. The Blue Heat is a particle that from the early reviews, sounds like its just a step down from the Aggressive in terms of oil handling. The Desert Heat is the dry lane ball all Trackies have been wanting for years. The Rule Delta 1 and Arsenal Reactive are due out later, and I have no further info on either of those balls.

Cody,
If you want to post some videos, that would be cool. Don't take this the wrong way, but not knowing the lane condition kinds of leaves a guessing game on reaction. On the mighty walls of today, a lot of bowling balls look very good. Get those same balls on a tougher lane condition and now you have no clue what they are going to do off your hand. I don't know how many times I drilled a ball, practiced with it and it looked fantastic, then get to the ABC's or something with a tougher lane condition and the ball is all over the place on the lane and reaction scale.
Clint, you ever sell any used or plugged stuff? I am just down the road from you in C-Bus. Might be interested if you have anything Track that you want to part with.

Bigmike,
The lane conditions I threw those shots on was:
36ft buffed to 44ft, heavy in the middle out to 10 board, then it tapers out to the gutter. So it is pretty dry outside of 6board.
I also suggest the Slash for a benchmark ball. It reads the lanes very well and does not overreact off of the dry boards and is very smooth through the middle of the lane.
The Heat is good for medium conditions, but it requires fresh backends. It has a difficult time recovering if it is kept too far into the oil. VERY good ball for most house shots. It was not out when I went to Nationals this year, but I think it would have done quite well on the shot in singles and doubles when the heads started to go.
The Aresenals are very good balls. That shot where I mentioned I could have used the HEAT at nationals I ended up using the Arsenal Angular. Think of it as a similiar reaction to the original Inferno, only I feel that the Angular is a bit more predictable off of the breakpoint.
Arsenal Aggressive is the ball I have used the most out of anything I currently have. The Aggressive gets a good read in the mids and a strong arc on the backend. I have mine sanded to 2000 grit, so it gives a similiar reaction to the Slash, on much stronger.
I hope this helps,
