Weaker than a CT
« on: July 12, 2004, 07:12:39 PM »
Ok, I have been using my Crunch Time thus far for the summer leagues and tournaments. But every week it seems that they are putting down less and less oil. Plus the lanes are drying up quicker. I am ok with the CT for the first game, but after that I cant keep it on the right side of the lane. It is just too strong for the lanes. What ball is good to fit below my CT?? Specs in profile.

Rock,

Are you liking the Crunch Time enough that you do not want to alter the surface?

There are a few options for the condition you are describing. Dry Heat. Crash- drill it like you have your Crunch Time drilled, apply a coat of Delayed reaction and you would be set. I did something similiar to that and it is definately weaker. The Crash even before the delayed reaction was weaker than the Crunch Time. The Crunch Time wants to check up a bit sooner. I applied the delayed reaction to put even more of a gap between them. Another option that you have is the new Hex-plosion. From what I am hearing it is supposed to be weaker than the Crash.

goodluck in your selection,

Hey Rock,

What's going on bud?  I agree with Ex on the Crash and the suggested drill, this way you can get pretty much the same reaction with just better skid thru the heads.  You can also add the polish if necessary.  If you want a more controlled backend, then I'd go to the Dry Heat.  Hope this helps....

Ex, yes I like the CT too much to alter anything about the ball. The layout on the ball is perfect and it reacts beautifully (Thanks Rick)!!

I was thinking of a Crash, but how strong is a Darkside?? One of the sellers on here has one for sale. Would that fit the bill or would that still be too strong??

Rock,

The Darkside would not be a bad fit. It would depend on the layout of the Darkside and the layout on the Crunch Time.

My first Darkside ( was stolen) it had a very simliar overall layout that my Crunch Time does and the Crunch Time is definately stronger. The Darkside was probably a touch longer and less angular than the Crash with the current coverstock I have on it.
